I Hope You Leave Your Light On

By

I hope you leave your light on.

I hope you leave your light on so you can see where you’re going as you try to navigate through the darkness. I hope you let your light guide you on your journey. Let the glow of it warm you in the cold, and let it keep you company in the dark.

I hope you know that you are not alone.

I hope you leave your light on so you can be found. When you leave your light on, it’s easier for others to see it; when you leave your light on it’s easier for you to see the light in others. Leaving your light on makes it easier for you to find your way back home.

I hope you learn how to find home within you.

I hope you leave your light on because it’s gorgeous. Leave it on so that it can burn bright. I hope you see that it’s too beautiful to be dimmed. It’s too lovely to let it flicker out. I hope you bask in the glow and dance by the flame.

I hope you let yourself dance.

I hope you leave your light on because you don’t deserve to live in the dark. I hope you let your light shine, and flicker, and glitter, and burn bright. I hope you see that your light can serve you well, that it can give so much to others, that it is magnificent.

I hope you leave your light on, because you were meant to shine.

You were meant to shine like the sun, like the way the rays of sunshine dance on the water. You were meant to shine like the brightest stars in all of the sky, and the ones on all the stages, too.

Your light is extraordinary — let it shine.
