What Is The Language Of Your Heart?

What is the language of your heart?

Maybe it’s strawberries dipped in chocolate. Maybe it’s a slice of New York City pizza. Perhaps it’s a simple Hershey’s Kiss. Maybe it’s not about the food – but the time you spend at a table, across from the one you love. Maybe that’s what matters most to you.

What is the language of your heart?

Maybe it’s the songs your grandmother sang to you as a child. Imprinted upon you for forever – and when you hear them, your heart sings. Your spirit lifts. You can feel the happiness down to your toes.

What is the language of your heart?

Maybe it’s the sounds of your favorite songs. Music holds so many memories – it’s as if we can go back in time through the notes. Maybe the language of your heart is written in melodies and harmonies.

What is the language of your heart?

Maybe it’s the touch of your partner or your spouse. Maybe it’s something of steamy romances – or maybe it’s the softer intimacy of cuddling on the couch. Maybe it’s both. But maybe that’s how you know you are loved – through the warmth of an embrace.

What is the language of your heart?

Maybe it’s hearing the words, “I love you.” Maybe you know that they love you, but you want to hear it. Maybe you know that they love you and you don’t need to hear it, but you need to know that they are proud of you, that they admire you, that they need you, that they appreciate you. Maybe it’s not enough to know those things. Maybe it sticks a bit harder when you hear it.

What is the language of your heart?

Maybe it’s grand gestures. Maybe it’s tiny moments of remembrance – a cup of coffee when you don’t remember to ask for it, but need it all the same. Maybe it’s a clean sink. Maybe it’s an empty hamper because the laundry has been done.

What is the language of your heart?

Maybe it’s not having to say anything at all. Maybe it’s that silence has scared you all your life until you met your person – and now you don’t have to fill the space with words out of anxiety, or fear, or discomfort. Maybe it’s knowing that you can chat about the things that press upon your heart until four am – or you can sit in silence as you watch television – and it’s love all the same. And it’s not going anywhere.
