It Is Going To Be Okay

By

You are excited for your future. You are also scared, uncertain, and a little insecure. I want to tell you that it is going to be okay. You are smart, strong, kind, and a fighter inside. You have already accomplished so much in such a short time. You already have so much to be proud of!

I want you to know that it is okay to listen to your gut. I promise it is usually right. Stop worrying about making everyone else happy. This is a battle you will never win. Make yourself happy first and those around you who matter will appreciate you for doing so. Stop striving for perfection. Your weakness is your insecurities. You are unaware of just how amazing you actually are and what you have to offer those around you. Once you realize that, you will excel exponentially!

You have already experienced more hurt and trauma than some do in a lifetime. But you will learn that your story is not so uncommon. In this decade, you will hear these stories being shared and you will start to blame yourself for not speaking out as so many other beautiful and brave individuals have. I want you to know that you did nothing wrong. There is no right or wrong answer for this kind of problem. You did what was best for you and that is enough. There is no guarantee that in doing so, in speaking out, it would have changed the future for the better.

You will be so afraid of failing that it will overwhelm you at times. Know that that fear inside of you is your fire. Know that your best work has come from your fear, and while others will frown upon you and even pity you for your fear and anxiety, it is okay. Do not listen to that negativity! I believe God made you this way so that you can excel. Because girl, you will excel! You will do so gracefully with time. You will make your plans and God will laugh. You will learn that your plans will not go as you wanted, and you will have setbacks. Know that there is a reason for this and don’t let it discourage you. Make your goals and plan anyway. It will help you get to the right path.

You will meet some amazing people, some who will become your friends and some not so amazing people. Each person you meet will have something to offer and something to learn from. Embrace it. You will learn that you are a part of everyone you meet.

In the next 10 years, you will be reminded that you are far from perfect, and it will not be easy. You will have to work 10 times harder than some of your colleagues. There will be people who tell you that you are not good enough. There will be people who question if you have what it takes. You will start to think that they are right. I encourage you to stop with the self-doubt. Your anxiety and fears that so many people criticize you for having will kick in and you will fight. You will prove your worth. You will prove you have what it takes. You won’t just prove that you can do the job, you will prove that you are one of the best people for the job! You will do so because that is the fighter in you.

You will have setbacks, but you will always land back on your feet. Use these setbacks to your advantage. Let it be your strength and not your weakness. I assure you, you are smarter and stronger than you know, and it will be okay… at least for the next 10 years.
