Loving Someone Is Not About Owning Them

By

If you love a person, love them for who they are. Not with what’s on your mind. Not with what’s in your heart. But love them for who and what they are.

Do not love them in fantasies, but instead love them in reality.

Eliminate those idea that they will come in full surprises. That they will fill all your voids. That they will give you the happiness that you always longed for. But instead, love them because you are not in need of someone to be complete. Love them because you are happy with your life.

If you love someone, don’t think they will make you the better version of yourself instead be the better version of yourself for your self.

If you love someone, let them go. Don’t own them. Don’t put them in one room and lock them. Instead, let them grow, live their life, let them fly freely to the sky.

Loving someone is not about owning, it’s about watching them live the life they wanted to be. It’s about giving them the freedom.

If you love someone, let them choose what path they want to take. If it’s the same path with yours… you are lucky. If not, that’s fine. You can always love them even if your paths aren’t made to intertwine.

If you love someone, you don’t have to give everything you have. They are not empty, they don’t need someone to fill their holes. They need someone who can understand them and who cares for them.

We always imagine that loving someone will cure our past heartbreaks when in fact we only need ourselves to do that.

Loving someone is not about their looks but it’s about the wholeness of their being. It’s accepting them for who they are and what you don’t like about them.

If you love someone, just love them. They aren’t here to repair us. Remember, they are like you too – broken and alone.
