Have you ever taken a step back and thought about how you became friends with someone? Your friendship is so strong that you do not even remember what it was like to not be friends with this person. We take our close friends for granted. Don’t forget to tell your best friend(s) how much they mean to you because trust me, they will appreciate it.

Thank you for…

1. Getting My Humor

Most people do not get my dry, sarcastic humor, so thank you for not taking anything personally and just getting me. A strong friendship needs a funny and light feel to it. Honestly, as long as you laugh with me, or at me lets be real now, no one else has to laugh at my jokes. Basically, if I fall down you will laugh, but I know you will pick me back up, too.

2. The Late Night Venting Sessions

Everyone says that late night chats are the best, and that is 100% true. It does not get better than talking with you at 2:00 AM. This is the only time where we will respond to each other within seconds and have full blown screaming sessions over text. I do not even have to be in the same room as you to know that you are rattled about a boy, a friend, or a teacher who won’t bump up your final grade. Thank you for listening to me rant in the middle of the night.

3. Eating Food With Me

I know for a fact that I do not have to be worried about being a messy eater in front of you. Sauce could be dripping down my face and you would take pictures and not judge me in any way, shape, or form. Also thank you for always getting salads with me since you know I do not like fried food.

4. Giving Me The Best Advice

I could go on forever here. You are the only one(s) who actually know everything about me. Thank you for being my biggest supporter, my person who I can go to and know I will feel better after talking. Sorry for all of the times that I bring up issues, but I know you will help me through whatever it happening. You’re one of the smartest people I know, and you will 100% change the world one day.

5. Being A Shoulder To Cry On

Tears just happen. I’m sorry for pouring them out to you, but thank you for allowing me to open. Just so you know, you do not have to ever make the tears go away. You do not have to fix the problem. Always know that I will get through this, but you definitely help me do that.

6. Sending Me New Music

Although we may want to, we can’t listen to old Justin Bieber songs for the rest of our lives. Thank you for sending me up to date music that makes me look like I know what is hip and cool when I am the one with the aux!

7. Doing Endless Hours Of Homework With Me

Having four hours of homework, or more, is always easier to accomplish with a study buddy. Thank you for going to the library with me and cranking out pages of reading. I don’t know how, but we still manage to have fun in the quiet section where everyone is dead silent. Thank you for helping me stay on task because we know that I would get nothing done without you there with me.

8. Calming Me Down

We know that I overthink to the max about almost everything. Thank you for allowing me to freak out, and then telling me that everything will be okay. I do not know how you do it, but you always manage to help me feel better when I am at my worst. One of the biggest aspects of a strong friendship is being there for one another, and we definitely got that down.

9. Telling Me My Feelings Are Valid

One of the worst feelings is when someone tells you to get over yourself, or that you should not feel the way you feel. Everyone is allowed to feel a certain way, so thank you for always assuring me that it is okay to feel the way I do in that moment. Thank you for letting me work through the hard time without telling me that the way I feel is dumb or that it does not make sense. You just get me, and you have probably felt the same negative feelings at one time or another.

10. Being My Best Picture Buddy

I do not know how it happens, but whenever we take pictures together, they always turn out perfect! You basically could be my entire Instagram feed…but people already know that you are one of my best friends. We could be in sweatpants, no makeup, hair in a messy bun, and still take an amazing picture. We do not have to have a full face of makeup to look picture perfect, at least in our eyes!

11. Helping Me Choose An Instagram

Instagram is my favorite social media platform, so thank you for always helping me make sure the picture I post is cute and not obnoxious. Thank you for commenting on said picture like you have never seen it before, considering you edited it maybe five different times. I am really sorry that I am not good at coming up with captions, but I will always be there for support (haha).

12. Late Night Video Chats

Thank you for calling me when I am driving home alone scared at night. Thank you for staying up late just to catch up with me if we, surprisingly, have not talked all day. You know I like talking more than texting, so this is always my favorite part of my day.

13. The Boy Advice

Boys can be the worst, let’s be real. Thank you for reminding me that I am better than any boy who has screwed me over or made me cry. Thank you for also attempting to find me a new boy that is good enough for me. Do not worry though, you will always come before any boy in my life.

14. Using My Slang

They say that the more time you spend with someone, the more you begin to sound like them when you speak. This is 100% true, so thank you for sounding just like me. It makes me so happy when I hear you say things like “oh we love that”, or “too far”, because that is exactly what I say. The best part is, we think about things in the same way, so we always just end up talking the same.

15. Being One of My Best Friends

Lastly, thank you for being my go to gal for anything and everything. I cannot imagine my life without you in it. I am your #1 fan always, and will always be there for you. This friendship is forever, and I am so glad to continue to conquer life with you. TC mark
