Dear Donald Trump: It’s Not Just ‘Locker Room Talk’ — It Matters

By

“Grab ‘em by the p*ssy.”

Words spoken by the Republican Presidential candidate about women. The asterisk is used because it’s obscene and degrading. And I’m trying to obtain an entry-level job under a leader who respects women and celebrates the diversity that makes our country strong. And I happen to BE a woman. And as such, I refuse to give maximum power to a misogynistic sexual predator who encourages rape culture.

You don’t need to have a wife, sisters, OR daughters to know that a Presidential candidate shouldn’t be “bantering” about sexual assault.

That’s not locker talk. That is language spewed and cycled by men who do not deserve to be called men. Do you see the way President Obama treats Michelle? Like his EQUAL. That’s the only way we can move forward as a country.

If you have a child, or if you’ve ever babysat, you know that Donald Trump’s “statement,” not to be confused with an “apology,” is what an insincere 5 year-old says to get out of a time-out.

“This is nothing more than a distraction from the important issues we’re facing today.”

How you view 50% of the population is pretty damn important.

Bringing up Bill Clinton’s actions to justify his own is repulsive. Bill Clinton is not running for President. Hillary Clinton is running for President. She has worked hard all of her life to earn the Democratic nomination and replacing her efforts with her husbands is, once again, a prime example of sexism. Trump encouraged sexual assault. And to counter that you fault Hillary for sticking by her husband and fighting for her marriage? That takes strength. It is not a choice all women would make. It is not a choice all women would agree with. But it’s hers to make. And Hillary empowers other women to think for themselves, even when decisions are difficult.

I feel for the Republican Party and do not condemn their values. I condemn Donald Trump and his value system, or lack thereof. This isn’t a war against Republicans. This is about electing a president of the Unites States with empathy and respect for all members of this country. If you’re voting for Trump, you are choosing to ignore his illness. His narcissism, pathological lying, and blatant disregard for minority groups. Is there a mental health screening to be president? Because there is to be a contestant on America’s Next Top Model.

HE needs to take responsibility for HIS actions. And OUR responsibility is to VOTE and ensure that this man never sits in the highest office. Please vote.
