I Want To Meet You When We Both Understand What Real Love Is

By

I don’t want to meet you in Grade School when we are still trying to figure out numbers and colors and shapes. From recess time I can just imagine you laughing with your friends while eating your lunches, asking your best friend if you can have his last piece of sandwich. I don’t want to meet you in Grade School when you are still busy collecting your Gundam toys and collecting stickers from your favorite afternoon cartoons.

I want to meet you when you are ready.

I don’t want to meet you in High School when you are in pressure because your parents wanted you to graduate with honors but you just wanted to graduate because you are already tired from the 4 years of hell. I don’t want to meet you in the Annual Junior and Senior Prom, I will let another girl do that and she will break your heart but you will be thankful as you have learned what it means to trust somebody and to never do that again.

I don’t want to meet you in High School when you are in the alley way alone, smoking your 2nd pack of cigarettes that you have spent from your allowance and thinking if you will ever love again as you inhale the smoke and exhale it from your dry mouth thirsty for understanding.

I want to meet you when you have learned to take care of yourself.

I don’t want to meet you in College, when you have shifted from one course to another. Thinking it was an easy path to make easy money but in fact it was not. When you are busy making codes even on weekends for your Thesis because you just want to ace it all. When you have learned to live on your own and cook for your own even if it means living with 4 different people in one roof, the apartment was packed but you felt lonely day by day.

I wanted to meet you this year but it’s too early. I don’t want to interfere with timing and fate. I don’t want to meet you while you are working, when you are busy making a career and name for yourself. I want you to focus on yourself because you deserve it after all.

Even if it means meeting you 5 to 10 years in the making, I want to meet you when we are both ready. When we finally know what it means to fall in love and to be in love and to stay committed to this love that we have.

Meeting you would always be the best thing that ever happened to me in this lifetime, I finally understood why some people whom I have met already left without a note or a message because they knew you were waiting for me and nobody will ever love me as much as you will.

Let us meet when the timing is right, when you have done everything that you wanted to do without needing either my help or my hands. I will see you soon.
