5 Signs From The Universe That You’re Headed In The Right Direction

By

The Universe is always nudging you, but how do you know you’re headed in the right direction? Sometimes it’s hard to see where you’re going, but remember one headlight on a dark road will lead you all the way home. All you really need to know is your next step. Whether big or small, we all have a purpose and life path. Here are a few signs from the Universe that let you know that you’re following your destined road.

1. Synchronicity

Have you ever been caught in a moment where you think to yourself, “It’s a good thing that happened or I never would have been standing here”? Life has a funny way of stringing together coincidences that lead you to your next big idea, relationship, or experience. It could be a phone number you found sandwiched in between the pages of your favorite book at a secondhand bookshop that led you to the man of your dreams. It’s that time you tripped on a crack in the sidewalk and fell in front of that talent scout who gave you your next big break. Synchronicity happens all around us. It’s the Universe’s way of showing us we are on the right path, but it’s our job to pay attention.

2. Blessings In Disguise

This kind of plays off of synchronicity in a way. Sometimes bad luck can be perceived as the worst thing that ever happened to us. Perhaps you got laid off from your job, broken up with, or even evicted from your living situation. Experiences like these can have us feeling discouraged, disheartened, and altogether ready to give up. My mom always called these “blessings in disguise” because often the end of one thing led something new and usually better.

I remember the feeling of failure and discouragement after being dumped by someone I really cared about. I was so upset and dismayed that I sat down and began to write. I wrote and wrote until I completed a novel. After that novel, I completed another. So on and so forth. What I perceived as the most heartbreaking experience of my life spring-boarded me into my life path as an author. A blessing in disguise.

3. Things Just Work Out

Have you ever tried so hard to make something happen, but no matter how hard you tried, you were always met with a wall? Yeah, me too. Maybe the relationship you tried so hard to save just fell apart or the job you tailored your entire resume around just didn’t want you. Sometimes what we think we want just isn’t meant to be. The Universe has something in store for us that we never even imagined. When you surrender to your life’s path, you will notice that some things just work out.

When you start to notice doors that open, all the resources you need will be at your fingertips. The right relationship is easy to maintain and the right job opens up when you least expect it. People infiltrate your experience to make things happen, and it all happens effortlessly.

4. You Feel Purposeful

When you’re going down the correct path, you will be filled with a sense of accomplishment and meaning. It might be hard at times or even frustrating, but you will know deep down inside that it’s worth the climb.

I know at times I’ve felt incredibly frustrated and discouraged with writing. There have been days when I wanted to give up because it just didn’t seem worth it anymore. It’s usually at those times when I’m met with an encouraging word from one of my readers or another book sale. It’s then I know I’m doing something that serves my life with great purpose and meaning.

5. The End Result Takes You By Surprise

Life rarely goes as we plan it. It has a funny way of bringing in things we never thought possible. If you told me 20 years ago I would be writing books and parenting two teenage boys as a single mom, I never would have believed you. I have no doubt that I followed the right path, however. The Universe had a funny way of ushering in a life I never could have imagined.  Sometimes the right path entails navigating some bumpy roads, enduring discouragement, and doing some hard work. No matter your path, the end result will usually surprise you. Take comfort in knowing that the Universe is always nudging you, but it’s up to you to surrender to the process.
