Horror In The Woods: 24 SUPER-Creepy Real-Life Stories Of Camping Gone Wrong

23. Knock knock knock.

“My girlfriend and I were visiting Mt St. Helens. We were sitting in the car, parked at a rest area, having something to eat. It was raining, windows were a bit fogged up, and it was getting dark.

There was a knock on my window. knock knock knock. We both were startled and looked at each other, as there was no one else at the pullout, and my side of the car was parked beside an embankment. I rolled down the window and looked out, there was no one. Then we sped off. It was super terrifying.

Later, we read in a park flyer that a man died there during the eruption. I still get the creeps thinking about that knock!”

24. ‘I’m going to fuck you up.’

“I was camped at Canyon de Chelly, AZ, on the res. I woke up inside my tent to someone outside shaking my tent and saying ‘I’m going to fuck you up.’ I responded ‘Can I help you?’ but they kept going. ‘My boys are coming over and we’re going to fucking kill you.’ If I had a gun, I would have shot blindly through the tent. I was certain we were in danger.

After about 5 minutes of this, I heard my truck door opening and slamming repeatedly until it stopped. Another few minutes of silence went by and I quietly crept out of the tent and saw a man sitting in my truck. My phone was in the truck, so I rushed over to other campers, waking people up and asking to use their phone to call the police because someone was threatening to kill me. 3 people said no until finally a couple said yes.

The local cops showed up and found a drunk, 19-year-old kid passed out in my truck with my phone, my iPod and some other things in his pockets. The cop took the kid in his car.

And that’s why I will never own a gun. That night I would have killed a drunk kid because I didn’t understand what was going on.”
