Stay Single Until You’re Ready For Love

God & Man

So many of us are obsessed with finding love. We are addicted to the adrenaline high when meeting someone new. We are so focused on seeking validation from outside ourselves. We crave the chase and we can’t stand to be alone. So we settle into relationships that are wrong for us just so we don’t have to be.

And that’s just plain wrong.

You should not have to tolerate people that are toxic. You don’t have to lower your expectations. You need not be afraid of being alone.

In fact, stay single because there’s no place you’d rather be. Stay single and enjoy every moment of it. Stay single and know that there’s nothing wrong with being on your own.

Your life belongs only to yourself. Your heart only has your name on it. Your soul is fully devoted to doing the things that make you feel alive.

You are absolutely and utterly free to wander around and be you.

Don’t rush into getting together with someone just because you want someone to accompany your lonely soul and mend your broken heart. Don’t abandon your sanity and principles for someone who is beneath you. Don’t lose yourself chasing for a love that is not meant for you.

Instead, fall in love with your life first. Cherish the journey you are in as you are exactly where you need to be. Know what kind of relationship you are looking for before diving straight into one. Build yourself up so that your happiness is not dependent on another. Learn to laugh and smile at the little blessing in your life and fill your big heart with nothing but joy.

Stay single until you meet someone who changes your life for the better and who redefined what you know of love and shows you what it’s like to be loved unconditionally.

Realize that it is always better to be alone than to settle for half-hearted effort, ‘almost’ love or a toxic relationship. Appreciate how carefree you are, instead of being chained to someone undeserving of you. Learn to be your own companion than to rely on someone whose presence is only temporary. Accept that there is no timeline when it comes to falling in love, meeting the love of your life or getting into a relationship.

The lonely days and nights may be much more than you can bear, but know that you’re liberated, and you can be whomever, and do whatever you want.

So many times you want to hasten your process of finding love and being with someone that you ignore all the warning signs. You desperately want a relationship to the extent you forget who you are without it. You search for love fervently, as though you are on an invisible deadline believing that there must be something wrong with you if you are not in a relationship.

And you shouldn’t have to do that.

In fact, stay single until you meet someone who you cannot live without. Where being with him is the best thing that happens to you.

Stay single until your heart tells you this is it. When your mind has never been so sure. And your soul feels so complete.

When you are with him, everything just falls into place naturally. Your overthinking mind clears and there is calmness to your erratic mood. He eases your anxiety and he makes you feel that everything is going to be okay. The more you get to know him, the more certain you are of your feeling towards him. You just know instinctively that he’s different from all the others you met before him.

And as your feelings grow for him so does his.

When you look at him, you realize that you can envision a life with him. You stop looking at the future in dread, but in anticipated excitement. You stop having to convince yourself that you are ready to love when the truth is you have never been more ready.

Stay single until you are ready to love wholeheartedly and when you are ready to receive the love you deserve. For true love deserves nothing less. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
