17 Things You Need To Focus More On In 2017

By

1. Your relationships.

What are they like? Mostly positive? Mostly negative? Have you kept in touch with old friends like you promised you would do last year? Work harder on maintaining beautiful and special relationships with everyone in your life.

2. Your job.

Do you despise your job? Do you have the energy to get up every morning and do the same thing everyday? Does your job make you more stressed or happy?

3. Your friendships.

Are your friendships meaningful? Are your friends kind and caring human beings? Do they lift you up or take you down?

4. Your mental health.

How are you doing mentally and emotionally in your life? Is there something that is setting you off balance? Try to figure out what makes you truly shine and what makes you feel at ease.

5. Unresolved feelings.

Are you still angry with your ex best friend? Do you still have feelings for your first love? Tell them. Get those feelings out. And let them go.

6. Your state of mind.

Are you anxious or depressed? Do you feel like your life is a mess because of the constant things that you tell yourself? Work on improving the way you talk to yourself. Work on loving yourself.

7. Time for yourself.

You need to make sure in 2017 that you absolutely take time for yourself to unwind and relax. Give yourself the love you deserve and don’t neglect yourself. Life is too short.

8. Your stress levels.

What makes you the most stressed? Your personal life? Work? Make sure that you really think hard about what causes you to be in a funk, and try to make a permanent change.

9. Your family.

Call up your parents every once in a while instead of once a year. Keep in touch with your cousins, your aunts and uncles, and grandparents. Visit your sister more often than not. Make your family one of your top priorities this new year.

10. What you need vs. what you want.

Make a list of things that are a necessity for you, and things that you may not need, but want. Make a mental note about what you should or should not spend your hard earned money on.

11. How you treat others.

Treat others the way you wish to be treated. Be kind. Be loving. Forgive people for their mistakes. Spread love instead of hate. Smile at strangers on the subway. Give back.

12. Your co-workers.

You spend the majority of your time with your co-workers. Show them how grateful you are to them, and how much their support means to you. Don’t neglect the people who have been nothing but kind to you.

13. Your health.

You aren’t getting any younger. Please, be kind to your body. Really look at nutrition labels. Make your own meals, not just ramen. Treat your body like you’re a temple.

14. Exercise.

Be active. It will not only increase your endorphins, but it helps with stress and anxiety too. Take a walk around the neighborhood once a day. Join a cycling class. Whatever you do, make sure you enjoy it.

15. The little things.

Notice little, ordinary things that you wouldn’t look twice at before. Appreciate all the things and people in your life. Appreciate rain in the fall, and flowers in the spring. Appreciate sunrises and sunsets. Notice the world around you.

16. Your savings account.

In 2017, spend your money carefully and wisely. Save more than you spend. Your future self will be eternally grateful.

17. What makes you happy.

Lastly, focus more on activities and people that make you happy. There is no need to surround yourself with things you despise. Spend more time with your best friends, and spend more time creating art, writing, or playing music. Do what makes you happy. You deserve it.
