Fall In Love With Someone Who Doesn’t Want To Fix You

By

Fall in love with someone who doesn’t want to change you ‘for the better’. Don’t you want to date someone who wants you for you? Why would you ever want to love someone who wants to fix you?

You don’t need someone to save you. You don’t need someone to stitch up your broken parts.

No one on this earth is perfect. Everyone has cracks. Everyone has weaknesses. Everyone has cuts that are permanent marks on their hearts. But these imperfections don’t have to be fixed at all. They don’t need to be covered up.

Everyone should be able to proudly wear their scars without wanting to hide. Everyone should be able to let their imperfections shine brightly without being worried it will blind someone else.

Fall in love with someone who accepts your flaws. Who wants to get to know the ugly parts of you. And who keeps on loving you even when you peel off your bandaids.

You shouldn’t try to find someone to fix you. You shouldn’t date someone who distracts you from your wounds. You shouldn’t fall in love with someone who is only interested in your pretty parts and pretty heart.

We all have gone through storms that we don’t want to talk about. We all have had cloudy days where dark thoughts have fogged up our minds. We all have thought things that we never want to admit. We all have been terrible human beings, if even for a second.

Fall in love with the type of person who will want to know you. Your heart, your soul, your bruises and your cuts.

Don’t fall for the type of person who just wants the glossy exterior. Who only wants perfect Instagram pictures and a happy ever after kind of story. Those type of people won’t ever want to dig deeper. They will turn away from you when you cry out for help. They will grimace in disgust when you bleed for them, desperate for them to see all of you. But they will never see all of you.

Fall in love with someone who doesn’t want to fix you. Because fixing you, would be altering you. It would be painting over your broken parts like they never happened. It would be a lie. It wouldn’t be love.

So, date the person who doesn’t turn away when you rip off your bandaids. Date the person who doesn’t freak out when you tell them stories about your past. Fall in love with someone who loves your ugliness. Who loves your dark days and your dark thoughts.

Fall in love with someone who holds your darkness in the light.

Fall in love with someone who kisses your scars and who cherishes them. Fall in love with someone who loves your wounds, and who loves the past that created you.

Fall in love with someone who would never ever want to change you. And who wouldn’t ever want to fix you. You don’t need fixing. You don’t need a retouching. You just need someone who loves all the imperfect parts of you. And you need to fall in love with someone who never wants your flaws to go away.

Your flaws make you you. Your flaws make you different from everyone else. Your flaws make you beautiful. And one day, the right person will come along and see that.
