1. At the first sign of a cold.
No matter how old we get, we always need our mom, especially when we wake up sniffling, coughing and sneezing. No one will make you tea or soup like your mom can, and no one can cure you like the love of a mom will.
2. When you need some girl time.
Your mom will always be down to get a pedicure or massage with you no matter what. She will also be eager to watch the new chick flick that came out last week with you. She will always say yes to girl time with you no matter the time of day or how busy she is.
3. When you got a bad haircut.
Leave it to your mom to take control of your disaster mess of a haircut. Whether they cut off too much, or gave you tiger stripes instead of golden locks, your mom will rush you to her favorite salon no matter what. She will take care of this faster than you can say “hair”.
4. When you have a hangover.
She will scold your decisions you made the night before, and look at you with a disappointed head shake, but, she will get you gatorade and Advil despite her annoyance. She’s not going to let that ugly hangover ruin your day.
5. When you need a break.
Your mom knows you work hard, and that sometimes, even if you don’t realize it, you just need a break. She will call you up on a Friday and will tell you to come home at once. Your mom will welcome you into her arms in a loving embrace and won’t want to let go.
6. When you miss your ex.
Your mom isn’t going to think you’re crazy. She isn’t going to look down upon your loneliness. She is going to tell you all about her experience with guys from her past and will reassure you that missing someone is normal. She will tell you that it’s ok to not be ok. And she will hold you until all your hurt is gone.
7. When you go grocery shopping.
Sometimes, you don’t know what the heck to get when you go grocery shopping. But a call to mom will be sure to fix all your confusion. She will let you know what products have too much sodium or sugar, and will make sure you only buy foods that are good for you.
8. When you need career advice.
Your mom will give you all of the advice that she can think of, and will email all her friends telling them you’re on the hunt for a job. She won’t give up on you. And she won’t let you down either.
9. When you need a good cry.
I don’t know what it is about mom’s, but I can’t hide my emotions from mine. Sometimes if you have so much built up emotion inside of you, your mom will be the only person who will relieve you of it all. And you will feel so much better afterwards.
10. When you need a pep talk.
Maybe you did your laundry all wrong, or maybe a boy rejected you for a shorter and much blonder girl. Whatever it may be, sometimes all you need is a back rub from your mom and her soothing voice telling you it’s all going to be ok. And whenever she says this, you know she’s right.
