5 Things You Should Know About Your First Tattoo

By

1. It’s important to be sure.

No one is comfortable with tattooing someone who can’t make up their mind. That ink is going to be with you for life, so you better know what you want, where you want it and how you want it to look. You can’t just divorce that shit.

2. It doesn’t hurt that badly.

While the thought of someone poking you with an ink gun should, and does, invoke a little fear—it’s honestly not that bad. If anything, the feeling of the needle repeatedly poking into your skin is more nagging than painful.

3. Immediately after it’s finished, you’ll want another one.

By the time all of that excitement/fear and adrenaline has disappeared, you’ll be planning your next tat by the time you leave the parlor.

4. It won’t define you.

One single thing can’t define who you are as a person, and that includes tattoos. Don’t fret too much about what people will think or who will find it acceptable. If someone doesn’t accept you with your new tattoo, you probably don’t need them anyway.

5. You’ll feel super badass.

And who wouldn’t? You just got ink tattooed into your skin with a needle gun. Be proud to show it off.
