I’m writing this because I got distracted.
You’re reading this because you got distracted.
We’re avoiding things together. What a pitiful companionship. Whatever, it’s companionship.
I was in the middle of writing a 10,000+ word blog post. (To follow up this stupidly long 15,000 word post about techniques for behaving in a world still dominated by luck in many places.) It’s too long, my ideas get unorganized.
I go to reddit. Please show me something so I don’t have to think hard. It did.
But it tricked me this time. It showed me a video.
The best video I’ve seen in a long time.
Because it’s about realizing you don’t have to waste your life. You don’t have to know what you think you have to know. You don’t have to be up to date on what you think you have to be up to date on.
You can be conscious of what you do with your life. We don’t get to choose many things in life, most of it just happens. We’re born to certain parents in a certain country at a certain point in history. Our lives are so predefined already… why wouldn’t we take an opportunity to choose when we can?
I’m going to go back to that article now and I’m not going to open a single tab until I’m done. I’m not going to check my email until I’m done.
I’ll shut up now and stop distracting you. But I think you should take 3 minutes out of this 24 hour day to watch what might be the single best CollegeHumor video. Ever.
