When I Lost You, I Found Myself

Spencer Selover

I write because of you.
I write from the moment I met you
To the moment you left me.
I wrote everything because I want to remember
The way you talk
The way you smile
The way you walked into my life
I write from the moment you said hello
To the moments you said good bye.
I wrote it all because I don’t want to forget
The way you touched me
The way we danced in the dark with only our hearts beating
The way you whispered ‘You’re beautiful’
I write from the moment you love me
To the moment you wish you don’t.
I wrote it down because I couldn’t hold it in
The way you accepted all my flaws
The way you adored me like an angel with broken wings
The way you hugged all my fears
I write from the moment you said never again
To the moment you came back and wish you had never left.
I wrote the joy and the tears because now I know what matters the most
You.
You matter.
Because when I lost you, I found me. I found who I wanted to be.
Now you’re back, now I know..
In every story you will always be the main character,
In every poem you will always be the meaning,
In every movie you will always be the star,
In every universe you will always be the center,
In every beginning you will always be the ending.
And in every me there will always be you.
You gave me the power to hold a pen,
To get a piece of paper and try to be better.
You gave me the power to turn pain into wonderful words.
You inspire me every day. Loving you inspires me.
I write because of you.
I write for you. TC mark
