If You Want To Find Forever Happiness, Remember These 7 Things

By

1. Forgive yourself.

You are going to screw up a lot. You think you’re never going to learn. But trust me, it’s okay.

We make mistakes because we are human beings. We are programmed to slip. But do you know what’s great about making mistakes? Learning from them.

Now, it doesn’t happen all at the same time with people — we learn at a different pace. It may take you a day or two, weeks, or even years. Then eventually, you will realize what you need to learn all by yourself.

When that time comes, forgive yourself. Do not be too hard on yourself. You are one step closer to becoming better. The best people to be with during this time of your life are the ones who truly know that you are not perfect. Because truth be told, neither are they.

2. Chase your dreams.

It’s very tempting to always go out with your friends and forget about the dreams you had in mind when you were still in college.

It’s okay to have fun, but never take your dreams for granted. Go back to school, learn how to cook, enroll in a dance class, get the body that you dreamed of, audition for your favorite local show, study abroad — just do it. Make time for it.

You’ll never know where it’s going to take you if you cease to try. If you fail, try again. Never give up. Just like the Japanese proverb, “Nana Korobi Ya Oki,” fall down seven times, get up eight.

3. Always look on the bright side of life.

It’s inevitable to overthink about almost all aspects of your life. Be that as it may, peace begins and ends in you. What you give power to has power over you.

By changing your mind, you change everything. Therefore, instead of dwelling on the negatives, choose to constantly be optimistic.

It’s hard at first, but facing other problems won’t be as difficult as it may seem once you start doing it. You then start to believe that though unfortunate and terrible things occur, everything happens for a reason. (Clichè but true.)

4. Never lower your standards.

Sometimes, you have to forget what you feel so you know what you deserve. It is tough because you may lose people who mean a lot to you.

However, it’s important to never allow loneliness to lower your standards. Because if you do, it is like you are left without a choice. Because if you do, it is like you are telling yourself you’re not worth what you thought you were. Because if you do, it is like you have given up on what you believe is your value.

You are on top of the world, allow them to reach you. Allow them to rise up to your expectations. Why? Because you deserve it.

5. Be graceful.

In handling pains, heartbreaks, and rejections, be graceful. Never be bitter or play the victim or think about revenge.

If you were hurt badly, it’s typical to feel anger and bitterness. But remember that the more you entertain these feelings, the more you prolong your agony.

Better focus on the betterment of yourself and look on the bright side. Pray. Talk to God and let Him take away all the pain. Always be gracious.

6. Trust God.

God moves in His timing, not yours. He is never late, but He is usually not early either.

You must learn to trust God’s timing. God has actually planned out your entire life, so you can trust Him to give you your needs/desires at the perfect moment.

So, rest in the fact that God has gone before you and has prepared everything for your good (Deuteronomy 31:18).

7. Love yourself.

Know that your worth doesn’t come from other people. It comes from within. Thus, never allow anyone to make you feel complete; rather complete yourself.

Never allow anyone to make you feel that you are unworthy of love, because you are. You are priceless. You are irreplaceable. You are a gem.

But you only realize this once you truly love yourself. Therefore, heal yourself. Find yourself. Correct yourself. Respect yourself. Be yourself.

Moreover, always remember that even when you face a lot of downfalls, believe that you can do it because you are you, and there’s a million things to love about you.
