I could just…log out of Twitter. Turn off the notifications. Mute the words “coronavirus” across my social media platforms. Tune out the news that my parents are watching on the TV in the other room. But I can’t.
We’re living in a world where we need to be entertained 24/7 and FaceTiming can only go so far. So what do we do? How do we keep ourselves entertained without our friends? Throw a house party.
Some people are using humor as a coping mechanism and/or a distraction from the reality of this outbreak, through memes, funny tweets, and the comedy stylings of Tik Tok videos.
March is Female Empowerment Month and March 8th is International Women’s Day. If you’re looking for ways to celebrate the women in your life, spend some time with them, send them a heartfelt message, or gift them something they’ll appreciate:

I’ve always felt the heaviness. As an empath, I feel whatever other people are feeling, and living in New York forces that on me. Maybe it’s because I’m an empath, or maybe because I’m a millennial, but either way, I needed to learn how to chill.
Sometimes you just need a day to yourself, you know? No other obligations and no other people to focus on–just you, undistracted, doing whatever it is that makes you feel the most “you.” That’s self-care.
