I could just…log out of Twitter. Turn off the notifications. Mute the words “coronavirus” across my social media platforms. Tune out the news that my parents are watching on the TV in the other room. But I can’t.
We’re living in a world where we need to be entertained 24/7 and FaceTiming can only go so far. So what do we do? How do we keep ourselves entertained without our friends? Throw a house party.
Some people are using humor as a coping mechanism and/or a distraction from the reality of this outbreak, through memes, funny tweets, and the comedy stylings of Tik Tok videos.
