I believe it to be a trauma thing, a very unbeautiful thing: the wanting, the doubting, the insecurity.
Believe me, I know how heavy it all is.
Maybe you are safe. Maybe you are with a good person, in a good place. Maybe you have no reason to doubt who you are and what you’re capable of. Sometimes, though, your mind just makes it up to be that way. This is what your soul is used to, what it expects.
I believe that insecurity is a means of warning, telling you that you are in need of healing. You are in need of healing from within.
If you are with someone who is right for you, they will remind you each and every day of your worth, your capabilities, and the things that make you stand out from the rest. They will never give you a reason to feel insecure. They will reassure you in however way you need them to.
And while it’s important to be with someone who is good for your heart and soul, it’s just as important to take time to learn about yourself and why you might be feeling the way you do.
Spend time alone. Figure out what growth feels like. Understand the way you love yourself and which parts of you need a little bit more tenderness.
No one knows you better than you know yourself.
Sometimes you have to push yourself through those fears you have. You have to find faith in yourself. You have to believe in yourself. You are worth so much more than you think you are.
