How To Celebrate Your Mom This Mother’s Day, Both At Home And From Afar

By

Mother’s Day is just around the corner and whether or not you’re quarantined with her, it’s important to show her some love and appreciation. Maybe you call her, or maybe you send her flowers or a gift, or maybe you just do something nice, like cook dinner one night or have a picnic in your backyard. Whatever you’re able to do, do it with your whole heart – she’ll notice the effort and appreciate it and you nonetheless.

Send her flowers.

Whether if you’d like to see her smiling face holding a bouquet of pink roses and white lilies or yellow roses and yellow carnations, mom will adore this. I mean, everyone loves flowers!

Make her breakfast in bed.

Treat mom like the queen she is and bring her breakfast in bed! Coffee, a mimosa maybe, an omelet or banana pancake spread. Even if you can’t cook (or cook well), she will love the gesture just as much as you!

Gift her a new candle.

This soy candle is the best thing for momma to burn when she’s winding down at the end of the day. The santal scent will allow her to feel calm and honestly, relaxation is what moms strive for.

Create a collage or give her a picture frame of you two.

Do you remember crafting in elementary school and making cutesy little picture frames for your Mom or Dad? Yeah, that’s because 1) it’s an easy thing to create and 2) moms love picture-esque things!

Set up a picnic in the backyard!

The next time you take a trip to the grocery store for essential items, pick up some picnic foods too: fruit, crackers, cheese, mini cookies, sparkling rose or lemonade. Find the beach blanket in the linen closet and set up the picnic in the backyard or the living room (depending on where you are and what the weather is like). She will love this idea!

Buy her a pretty new necklace.

Because what mom doesn’t love jewelry?! This white sapphire satellite necklace is dainty and such a simple stunner. Mom will for sure love it!! (Get 10% off your order using the code “KELLYP”!)

Create a booklet of “10 things I love about mom.”

One of the greatest ways you can show your appreciation for your mom is through this booklet that she can read over and over again. Tell her what scent she reminds you of or your favorite qualities about her. Feel free to buy the pre-made booklet or make your own!

Give her a hug, if you can.

If you’re in quarantine with her and she’s just in the other room, give her a hug. Or two. Or three. This little act can show her just how much you appreciate her.

Call her.

Seriously, call your mother!

And for the ones who have lost their mothers or were mothers and lost a child, take some time alone or do something nice for yourself. Remember, you are strong, validated, and so, so loved.
