The Best Skincare Products For Your Skin Type, According To 7 Women Who Use Them

There’s so many different skin types, but from the people I’ve talked to, a lot have similar types: dry, oily, or a combination of both.

Let’s talk skincare.

Dry

“I love Dermalogica’s precleanse balm for an oil cleanser and makeup remover and Cetaphil’s gentle face cleanser. I love using the Glossier Perfecting Solution as a toner and Glossier’s super bounce as my serum. For moisturizer I love Red Earth Beauty’s hydrating lotion!” –Amanda, 25

“I have very dry skin. I love Juice Beauty’s Stem Cellular Exfoliating Peel Spray, Peter Thomas Roth’s Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Serum, Pacifica’s Dreamy Youth Day & Night Face Cream and Tula’s Purifying Face Cleanser. I use everything twice a day, morning and night, except for the peel spray – I use that once a week. It literally peels off dry, dead skin and leaves you super soft and glowy!” –Kate, 22

“I’m a big fan of Glossier’s super glow serum before makeup or on makeup free days to fade my psych-med breakout spots faster and add some natural glow to my dull, dry skin, as well as Glossier’s Milky Jelly Cleanser to dissolve makeup and act as a gentle cleanser. The Body Shop’s Japanese Matcha Tea Pollution Clearing Mask is the perfect black head destroyer, as it gently clears most blackheads or softens them up to be extracted (with proper tools!) easily. All sensitive skin approved!” –Nicole, 24

Oily

“I use Tatcha’s products – The Essence, and Violet C brightening serum and Summer Friday’s Jet Lag Mask! Literally swear by these, my skin looks so much better and I use all 3 of these nightly! Occasionally I’ll use a face mask and I love Farcmacy’s Honey Potion Mask!” — Gab, 21

Combination

“I use witch hazel toner (to even out my skin tone) pretty much every night. I use Glossier’s Perfecting Solution and the Milky Jelly Cleanser too. I get flareups of tiny bumps on my forehead so I use tea tree oil as a spot treatment. Tea tree oil is a godsend for tiny bumps! I also really like the Clinique’s Moisture Surge Moisturizer – I’ve been using it for probably 6 months at least and it’s a really hydrating moisturizer. My skin gets so dry in the winter and this really helps.” –Julia, 23

“I love Cerave for face wash and moisturizing lotion. I’ve used both for years and they’re really good for sensitive skin. I’ve loved Clinique’s Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel for years too. I also really love tea tree oil for pimples,  Cocokind Mymatcha All-Over Moisture Stick, and Rose Hip Seed Oil, especially in the winter months.” — Izzy, 23

“My skin is a combination – dry around the cheeks and chin area and a bit oily on the forehead and nose area. I used to have a good amount of acne scars that have completely healed, so I use this Rose Hip Seed Oil from The Ordinary in my night skin routine and it’s amazing. It traps the moisture in and evens the skin tone out. It’s 100% organic, very rich in vitamins and the texture is not too thick so you don’t feel like you’re having a product overload.” — Ida, 22 Thought Catalog Logo Mark
