10 Everyday Reminders Every Young Woman Needs To Hear Right Now

1. It’s perfectly fine to do things for yourself.

Growing up, I always had to think of my family and my relatives. I can easily blame that on my culture but truth be told, I was just always so scared to get of the box they built for me. I know this is selfish but you’ll be happier in the end if you do things for yourself instead of doing it for others.

2. Take care of your skin.

Be careful what you put on your face and what products you use. It is never too early to start a skin regime. I promise, your older self will thank you for it. Remember to moisturize, cleanse, and exfoliate your face as often as you can.

3. Be loyal to your family.

Family can take on different forms and kinds. You have the family you are born into, but also the family you choose. But remember that whoever you consider your family, never take them for granted. They will always be there for you, no matter what.

4. Do your best to surround yourself with positive people.

This is one of the most important things I think we need to learn today. Stay positive and don’t waste your time and energy on negative and useless things. Focus in the good and surround yourself with people who help you maintain a positive aura. Remember that it’s all about your perspective, but your surroundings definitely impact you.

5. Do your best in school.

You probably won’t need everything you learn in school but studying well instills within you a sense of discipline. It’s important to learn that discipline and take it with you after you graduate.

6. Take care of your heart.

I know that every young girl just wants to fall in love but always remember to take care of your heart. Don’t just give it to anyone. Take your time before giving your heart away. You can only fall in love with your whole heart so many times.

7. Don’t overthink the bad days.

As you go through your life, you’ll experience a lot of things. Among them are those that can break you. No matter what you go through, always remember to choose to live. Do not give up! It’s just a bad day, not a bad life.

8. Take care of your reputation.

Nobody ever really says “I don’t care what other people say about me”, and means it. Believe me, you’ll want to take care of your reputation. Don’t do something your future self will hate you for.

9. Don’t give in to peer pressure.

I know it’s so much easier said than done. If you ever give in, try to stop before it’s too late. Always remember: DO THINGS FOR YOURSELF. You don’t need to prove anything to anyone. Dance to the beat of your own drum.

10. Love yourself.

Above all else, love yourself first. Remember that this is your life and you only have one shot at it. Always love yourself. All of you, flaws and all. TC mark
