You Don’t Need to Feel Alone Again

By

When you see yourself in a room full of people, you can still feel alone. Even if they ask you how you are, even if they greet you with the most genuine smiles, even if they are standing inches away from you, it still feels as though the room is entirely empty.

When you’re only awakened by the sound of an alarm clock, and not by the sound of someone saying “Good Morning”, it can feel as though you have no one in your life. But, when you start going outside, you will be quickly reminded that you’re not the only person in the world.

When the night becomes silent and all you can hear are the thoughts telling you it’s time to sleep, you will feel alone again. There you are, alone in your bed, and the day repeats itself. You start getting used to it, perhaps, it’s not bad to feel alone after all.

But, there will come a time that you don’t know what to do anymore, a time when you don’t believe in prayers anymore, and a time when the world is not worth living in anymore. Since no one is there beside you, you’ll think that all you can do is to ask yourself one thing: What did I do to deserve this?

You will always be stuck in an island if you don’t learn how to swim. So, get out of that comfort zone that isolated you from the rest of the world and reconnect with who you really are. Truly, to be able to perceive the love of others, you must learn to feel the love you have for yourself first.

Travel and explore once in a while, get lost in a place you’re not familiar with. Because sometimes, you need to get lost to find yourself, and when you do, no matter how empty the world seems, you will never feel alone again. Simply having yourself will finally be enough.
