The days I wanted to quit. The days I said I was done. The days I wanted to turn around and run, far and fast.
We promised each other a future. A friendship that we would carry with us forever. We were the ones that always made it through. No matter the distance, the disagreements, or awkward tendencies. We made it through.
Don’t forget about the life you have, waiting for the one in your head.
I hope you let yourself feel something, anything. I hope you forgive the broken heart that’s trying so hard to beat again.
Take a pause in your life and recognize what you’re surrounded by. Love the people who have stuck with you, loved you, and encouraged you. Those are the people you must carry with you in your journey.
We don’t always notice the ones who need saving. Sometimes they’re the strong ones. The strongest person you may know. They wear the big smiles and carry the even bigger hearts.
You are already gripping the door handle, anticipating their departure. It’s over before it even begins. You don’t fully let them in and you only open up just enough. You’re scared that just as soon as you do, just as soon as your wall comes tumbling down they’ll leave, be gone.
I’d like to think that one-day the strength and love you try to give will be appreciated. That caring deeply for others will pay off.
