Start with dinner and maybe a bottle of wine. Talk about everything; life, love, past relationships, current dreams, future expectations, their opinion on Obama-care and when they lost their virginity.

Laugh excessively, smile till your face hurts, be your true and most radiant self. Expect to take separate cars home at the end of the night but somehow end up making out in the back of a taxi 3 or 4 too many glasses of wine later. Get to his place, or yours; struggle trying to open the front door and stumble up the stairs.

Find yourself laying in bed together kissing one another and lose yourself in the moment. Feel the weight of his body on yours, close your eyes and just be. Fall asleep next to one another, heart beating fast, mind still.

Wake up in the morning with a mild hang over. He’ll wake up soon after pull you in close and kiss you on the cheek. Get up, brush your teeth, get dressed and head to brunch. Spend the day together, kiss each other goodbye and head back home.

Catch yourself thinking about him at work, stopping yourself from texting him before you go
to bed and when you wake up. Smile when you see his name pop up on your phone. Cancel plans in order to see each other. Spend everyday that you can with each other. Drink together, be silly, be real, be raw, be honest.

Get drunk together late at night when it’s raining and you don’t want to leave the house. Kiss each other too much. Dance around in your panties and his sweater while listening to Bill Withers; he’ll think your cute and tuck you in when you fall asleep mid conversation. Make breakfast for him, remember how he likes his coffee. Tell everyone how lucky you are to have such an amazing “friend.”

Sooner or later you’ll realize you aren’t just friends, you’ll realize you aren’t just friends and you’ll stop yourself from feeling this way. What started as a drunk hookup turned out to be more then you were prepared for. The best part of love is it takes you by surprise. I don’t know how to fall in love. I don’t know exactly what to say or what to do. I don’t know how to act. I do know that love is a beautiful thing that many people fear. That many push away instead of trying to embrace.

There is no how-to guide of falling in love. Every story is unique in it’s own way.

Overall, what I’m trying to say is. Do it. Just fall. TC mark
