These Are All The Ways I Miss You

missing people
Erik Lucatero

I miss you when something good happens. I want you to be the first person I tell the good times to. I want to be able to share every ounce of my happiness with you.

I miss you when something terrible happens. I want to cry my heart out and burst all my feelings with you because I know you’re the only one who can understand me and whatever it is that’s happening around us.

I miss you whenever I hear love songs on the radio. With every word I hear, I’m longing for your breath against my neck and the touch of your hands to my body.

I miss you on late nights and rainy days. My sheets and pillows smell like you. And all I want is to be able to be wrapped inside your arms.

I miss your voice in a big crowd. I always find myself missing all of your words. You always give justice to every letters in the alphabet making me drown with all your words and always making me miss you more.

I miss you whenever I wake up in the middle of the night. With no one to hold me tight to help me get back to sleep, that’s when it’s hard.

I miss you when all else fails. I need you with me; and sometimes life gets in the way and seems to punch me in the face.

I miss you. I miss you every day. I miss you a lot. We may not be physically together right now, but I know a time will come for you to be with me again. Distance will never be a hindrance.

See you soon, my love. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
