Don’t You Dare Give Up Because You Are Destined For Big Things

By

You’ve heard all the promises.

You’ve been sold on all of the success stories.

And deep down inside you told yourself that if you can just be 1% as successful as the most popular people in your particular industry then you’ll be a happy bunny. Because at the end of the day you really don’t need much.

You’d rather live with less doing something you love, than to live with more money working at a job that is sucking every last breathe out of you.

After all, you can’t put a price on freedom.

You want to make a difference in peoples lives, to feel significant… because this way you can find meaning in everything you do and leave behind a real legacy. The top executives at your job couldn’t care less about you.

You’re just another cog in their well oiled machine.

So you decide to dabble with your dreams for a little while to see what all the hype is about, you put in a little bit of effort… but things just don’t work out.

The dream…

The dream…

Where is the dream?

It seems like it doesn’t exist.

So you flat out quit and make up all of the excuses in the world.

You blame it on all of those God damn industry experts, success stories, motivational speakers and bloggers (like me) for giving you so much false hope! You let fear in, and as a result it takes over your life.

It consumes your thoughts and paralyzes you from taking any sort of action of significance, and more importantly… destroys the confidence you once had.

But little did you know…

The world actually needs you.

The world depends on people like you.

You are the changemaker…

You are the outlier rebel…

You are the misfit warrior…

The underdog supreme…

And if things seem to not be working out, it is not because you aren’t good enough… because trust me, you are. It is only because you aren’t ready yet.

It is only because you haven’t yet committed to your dreams 110%.

Forget about all of the tricks of the trade, sure – they are important… but before any of this even matters, you need to want to succeed as much as you want to breathe. You need to create and breed the burning desire of a thousand flaming suns. You need to take massive action upon massive action and unleash every last ounce of yourself into your thing.

You need to bleed.

And you need to bleed hard. And perhaps if you were to put in just a little bit more effort, a little bit more time and passion into your dream project… then perhaps things would be a little different.

Perhaps your work would be spread across the internet making a difference with each and every single life that touches it. Perhaps you’d be living on your favorite Island sipping out of coconuts and enjoying the lifestyle of your dreams…

Perhaps…

Perhaps…

Don’t… Quit… Just… Yet

Way back in 2011, after years of working for the man… I decided to quit my job and focus on blogging full-time with no plan B in sight.

I decided to go ALL IN and become the worlds greatest blogger that has ever lived. This was the dream, and I was determined to make it happen.

So I left my high salary marketing job and embarked on this quest with one and only one goal in mind… to blog and inspire as many people as I possibly can.

Everyone thought I was crazy.

After all, blogging is barely the traditional route that society would label as ‘normal’. In fact, you HAVE to be little crazy to choose blogging over so called ‘security’. But I wouldn’t have it. This was my fate.

It is what I was meant to do.

So I did it.

I was driven and I had a greater purpose too… what could possibly go wrong?

Man was I wrong.

Just four weeks into my quest and I had burnt out.

Somewhere along the lines of reading every how-to guide out there and overwhelming myself with every blog theme option I just couldn’t take it anymore. It was driving me insane.

And even when I was actually able to set up my blog and get things rolling… the only thing I got was absolute silence. Not a reader in sight.

I had traded my entire livelihood for this.

For the silence…

And do you know what worst part was?

It wasn’t my depression.

It wasn’t the fact that I had run out of money and couldn’t pay the rent anymore. It wasn’t even the shame and embarrassment I had to face every single time I met my friends and they would constantly ask me how this blogging thing is going. The worst part was that I had let my family down.

But It Didn’t End There…

Do you want to know what the craziest part is?

I actually never gave up blogging.

Even though nothing seemed to be working and I had failed in a couple of other online businesses since I had initially made my decision to run an online business full-time, I kept on going. Instead of giving up…

… I worked twice as hard.

Instead of calling quits, I doubled down and gave it my all.

Every. Single. Day.

And when my previous work colleagues were showing off their pay rises and big fat bonuses at the end of each quarter… I decided to live with less and get rid of everything I didn’t need.

When all of my friends were buying their first houses, telling everyone they knew about it on Facebook… I decided to move back in with my parents.

They say that the brick walls are there for a reason.

The brick walls are there to keep all of ‘the other people’ away.

After all, if you can’t find it in yourself to sacrifice some of the pleasures of today in order to achieve your wildest dreams and desires tomorrow… then you do not deserve the success that you dream about and do so desire.

Most people think that ‘making it’ is some sort of ‘get rich quick money making scheme’… but that couldn’t be further from the truth.

Just like anything else in life, you need to treat your dream project like a real business… which means that you’ll need to dedicate years of hard work to it.

Success only ever comes with years and years of hard work.

The chances that your think becomes a success overnight are non-existent.

In hindsight, the years of pain and struggle are what have allowed me to live the life that I have today. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that if everything was easy, I wouldn’t be half the blogger or writer that I am today.

Do I regret any of this?

Not a chance in hell.

Sure, I’m not rich by any measure of the word.

And I don’t get all of the perks that a 9 – 5 job might offer, but I get to make a modest living doing what I love to do… unchained from any sort of corporate politics. It is perfect for me, and if it is perfect for you as well… then you need to listen up.

You’ve Got This GODDAMMIT

You’ve got this.

Seriously.

In the eyes of the world and the universe, we were all made equal.

No one is better or more skilled than you, they simply work harder.

Sure, you might not have the charisma of talk show hosts or trained personalities… but where you fall short, you can make up with strengths you undoubtedly posses. If you aren’t the smartest, then you could be the hardest worker. If you can’t be the hardest worker, then you could care more.

And as much as you might think that you aren’t good enough, or that you aren’t destined to make a living doing work you love… I am here to tell you that these are simply stories you tell yourself in order to avoid the harsh reality of life which states:

Anything of significance only comes from years of work and not giving up.

Michael Jordan never gave up when he wasn’t accepted into his high school team… instead, he tried again until he becomes the worlds greatest bball player.

JK Rowling didn’t give up when she was rejected by every major book publisher out there… instead, she wrote her book anyways and sold billions of copies. Eminem was the opposite of what being a rapper represents… and he was still able to make it as one of the worlds greatest rapper to ever rock the music scene.

… And the same is with your dreams.

We were all born equal, and the only thing you are lacking is a proper road-map… a personal guide to take you from where you are now to where you truly want to be. Just think about this for a second.

You wouldn’t go on a 5-hour drive to your favorite vacation location if you didn’t have the right directions now, would you? Sure, it would be tempting (since you can’t wait to leave your 9-5 and sip Pina Colada’s all day)… but traveling without a clear set of directions would be absolute madness.
And it’s the same with your dreams.

You don’t need another person to tell you how you need to find a niche market, that you need to have a degree in ‘business’, or that you have to brush up on marketing. I am here to tell you what you might not have heard yet.

I am here to help you shatter the psychological and physiological barriers that are holding you back from all of your wildest dreams and desires. To help you break free from the mental straitjacket.

To unlock, unwrap, and unravel the value and every last ounce of potential that YOU and only YOU alone can bring to the world and the things you want to create. This is not motivation therapy my friends.

This is the Ultimate Guide For Not Giving Up On Your Dreams.

And you… you my friend, are the star of the show.

Let’s get this party started.

Rule #1 – You Need to Want to Succeed As Much As You Want To Breath

Imagine that you didn’t know how to swim.

And now imagine that you were thrown out in the deep end of the sea.

What would you do?

Naturally, any sane person would do whatever it takes to keep their head above water and breathe. At that particular moment, nothing else in the world would matter. Not what your Facebook friends are up to.

Not what events are happening in and around your town.

And not the latest episode of Game of Thrones.

Your only focus would be to breathe.

And this is exactly how you need to treat your dreams and desires.

You need to want to succeed as much as you want to breathe.

Even if that means waking up a couple of hours early so you can have an advantage against the world, or sacrificing the small things that don’t bring much value to your life (like mindlessly watching hours of TV).

Instead, you need to use that time on the things that will advance your success, such as acquiring knowledge by reading books and working day and night.

The universe only ever rewards those who deserve its abundant gifts, and what better way to earn its trust by letting it know how hard you are willing to work?

Rule #2 – You Need to Get Rid Of All The Excuses (Every Last One)

If I had a dollar for every excuse I’ve ever made – I’d be a millionaire by now!

Coming up with excuses for not being able to do whatever it is you want to do is probably one of the biggest reasons why most people never get started.

It’s nice to be inspired by articles like this one – but at the end of the day, you have to put away all of the excuses and just get started. No one else will do this for you. Do any of these statements sound familiar to you?

‘I’m not very technical, and setting up a business sounds way too complicated’.

‘I don’t have any money to pay a designer for my logo’.

‘I never have any time to work on my passion project’.

‘I’m always too tired to do any work’.

Have you ever found yourself making up one of these excuses?

Perhaps something similar to these?

If that’s the case, then the first thing you need to know is that you are not alone.

I’ve been there many times before, and it’s a natural part of being a human being. But what’s dangerous is when you let it dictate your entire life.

The good thing though is that there’s an easy fix.

First, you need to make it crystal clear that you are willing to commit.

Once, and only once you have fully committed to your thing, then every time you find yourself making up an excuse as to why you can’t be successful – I want you to come back to this post and read the next paragraph to yourself:

‘Listen up soldier. I am 110% committed to being a full time (insert your thing). I am willing to do whatever it takes. It sure as hell won’t be easy, but I am going to let nothing stand in my way. Not even my excuses. Especially not my excuses. Because the excuses are nothing more than stories I tell myself because I’m scared. And failure is not an option.

In fact, I will use my fear of failure as the fuel I need to work twice as hard and burn any doubts I have about being a full time (insert your thing here).

I’ve got this. Just you wait and see’.

Rule #3 – You Need to Become The Best Possible Version Of Yourself

The truth is that we all have the potential to be anything we want to become.

There’s no doubt about that.

What most of us lack, though – is both the knowledge and resilient mindset necessary for taking massive action to make our greatest dreams come true.

And when we see little results from taking minuscule action, it tends to discourage us from putting any more effort in our passion project altogether.

But on the other hand, if you were to take massive action – and as a result see incredible results, you’ll become conditioned into repeating the same cycle over and over again.

So how does this relate to your dreams?

In every single way that you can possibly conceive.

By completely dedicating yourself to your thing, straying far away from the idea that this is just another silly side-project – and doing whatever it takes to turn your business into a thriving success will give you the energy and confidence to keep going at it.

Stronger than ever.

Treat your thing like an unimportant side-project and you’ll soon realize that the lack of results would make you neglect your passion-project altogether.

The firm commitment is not an option.

And this can only happen by becoming the best possible version of yourself.

And becoming the best possible version of yourself requires you to put in the time and discipline to acquire knowledge by reading the smartest books.

From personal development, productivity, business, marketing and biographies of the worlds greatest visionaries – if the author has already accomplished what you are out to get, then chances are you’ll learn a great deal of new ideas and philosophies that you can apply to your work, and more importantly – your life.

Rule #4 – You Need to Have A Clear Vision Of Your End Goal

The smartest entrepreneurs and business owners out there all know that in order to make their business successful, they need to have a clear idea of their end goal. Let’s say that you wanted to make $4,000 / month from your photography gig. Would it make more sense to blindly follow pursuit and hope that you make money from your service – or is better to hatch up a plan where you sketch out exactly how many people you would need to visit your website on a daily basis and how many of them would convert into paying customers?

The latter of course.

So if you make a sale worth $400 for every 100 visitors to your website, then that means you’ll need 1,000 visitors a month to make $4,000 monthly.

That is approximately 34 people a day.

This is a formula you can use for any situation and will not only give you realistic milestones that you can track – but also allow you to plan out your marketing strategies and ideas according to what your end goal might be.

So if you find that guest blogging twice a month is the key to driving the amount of traffic you need, then you’ll have a clear indication of what you have to do. If you find that you end up getting the results you are looking for by giving talks at local events or paying for advertising, whatever it might be – knowing your end goal and reverse engineering your strategy is what will allow you to start making waves.

One More Thing…

As a dreamer, your intentions always have to be clear.

Your goal should be to help, encourage, and inspire others to be great at whatever they are coming to you for. You need to do whatever you can to help solve their problem. It’s not all about the money.

You need to give, give, give in order to receive.

And as noble and honest as this may sound, there will be many times when your ego will decide to step in and steal the show. And let me tell you that as an entrepreneur, or whatever you want to become…

… this is one of the worst things you can do.

You need to work because you enjoy helping people because you are out to solve a problem better than anyone else out there – not to feed your ego.

The applause, the showmanship, the comments, the likes, the readership – they should not be your top priority. You should not be working for this.

Because it can become an addiction.

Work because you would like to share your knowledge with the world.

Because you have a great passion for a certain topic.

Or better yet, because you feel like it is your obligation to inform and shed light on a specific misconception. These are all valid reasons to chase your dreams, and I genuinely believe that authenticity and honesty are the two biggest contributing factors to setting up a legitimate business that will be able to provide for you for years to come.

So What Happens Next?

Today, while most of my friends are obliged to go to a day job they hate (probably for life)… I get to work from anywhere I like and do work I genuinely enjoy. It hasn’t been an easy journey, and I still come across struggles and obstacles on a daily basis, but man it is worth it.

I wouldn’t trade this for any other job in the world.

So please.

I beg you.

I urge you..

Don’t quit.

Just not yet.

The world needs your art.

The world needs to hear your story.

We, as a global community of dreamers, depend on you.
You owe it to yourself.

Your gift to the world is special and unique.

So, please.

Don’t…

Quit…

Just…

Yet…

More than anything, this is a reminder to everyone in our little community.

To not give up at the first inconvenience.

To believe in yourself and try to do things a little differently if it’s not working.

To dream, with love, and dedication.

To keep fighting the good fight.

To give it everything you’ve got.

At the end of the day, it will all be worth it – I can promise you that.

Just you wait and see.
