1. You get to pick what you want to watch on Netflix.
It is the time to be selfish and watch the entire season of House of Cards that you have been putting off. Nothing is better then crawling into a warm bed and spending some quality time with Kevin Spacey.
2. You can reflect on your life in peace.
Whether or not your life is going in the direction that you want, alone time gives you the chance to check in with yourself. When you live a hectic life you can lose your sense of self. Alone time gives you the chance to make sure you are doing OK and are on the path that you want to be on.
3. You don’t have to impress anyone.
Don’t shower; don’t do your hair or makeup. You don’t need to impress yourself because you already know how amazing you are. Putting on sweats and your hair in a messy bun is why alone time was invented.
4. You get to be as weird as you truly are.
Alone time is prime time to practice that new dance move or to pretend you have what it takes to be on The Voice. I know that I have full on conversations with myself, not because I’m lonely, but because I’m truly weird.
5. You get to do things that you miss doing.
My alone time is spent writing. It not only relaxes me, but it’s my creative release. For others maybe it’s painting or playing an instrument. Your lost hobby or passion shouldn’t be put on the back burner for forever. You can revisit something you have been missing.
6. You can listen to an entire album on repeat.
I believe that music can actually heal someone’s woes. It’s the perfect medicine for a broken heart or it’s an escape from reality, if only for just an hour. Having the time to just listen to your favorite song on repeat can always turn a shitty day better.
7. You can do whatever the hell you want.
Take a nap, eat a cake, or do some yoga. Alone time is for you and only you. There is no one you have to impress or entertain. It’s a magical time that you don’t get often, so you should spend it doing what you really want.
