Dear God, Today I Give You My Life

Dear God,

I don’t know what today may bring, but you do. So I give this day to you. Along with today, I give you tomorrow. Along with tomorrow, I give you all my worries. I give you my mind, my body and my future.

I give my life to you, God.

I have learned that I can’t face this life alone. You have asked me to take your hand and walk along the path you have created for me. Along this path I have been faced with obstacles. I have climbed mountains, walked through fire and gotten back up when I have been knocked down, tired, and broken. But I will continue to walk this path with you through the hardest weather conditions.

Because when I was broken, with my hands on my knees, tears streaming down my face and pain in my heart, I looked at you and asked why. Why is this path so hard? Why didn’t you take me on an easier route? Why have I lost so much along the way? I don’t understand where we are going God.

And you looked at me and said, “I can see in your eyes that you are doubting me…but I am asking you please not too. Because even though you are doubting me, I will not leave your side. I will never leave your side. This path I created for you was made with purpose, do not be afraid my child, for I have plans for you…now take my hand, We must keep walking. I see sunshine ahead.”

So, God, before I begin this day you have blessed me with, I must thank you for my struggles. The obstacles I have endured have taught me so many lessons; they have made me stronger and smarter. But most of all, the rainy days have taught me how to truly appreciate the beauty of the sun.

I am sorry for ever doubting you.

Thank you, God, for never giving up on me.
