Send This To The People Who Have Loved You Well

I don’t say it enough, but I think you should know that you have been the warmth on my coldest days, and I cannot thank you enough. Your arms have been a safe haven for my weary bones. You — sweet friend, angel, warrior human — have made space for me that I did not know I could take up, and now I am here, in that space, with a soul full of gratitude for you.

I know that it takes rivers of strength and courage to carry someone else’s heart in the midst of your own life. Somehow, I never run out of blankets to cover up with in your chest. Your kind eyes say, “I’ve got you. You’re not alone. I am holding you through this.” I want you to know that I think you are a superhero, a special soul, an extension of the divine.

When I feel lost and search for a reason to carry on, I think of you. In the middle of my temper tantrums and at the peak of a good cry, I remember your gentleness. You help me become who I really am. You inspire me to choose more loving opportunities and surround myself with more people like you.

Thank you for being who you are. Thank you for existing at the same time as me. Thank you for taking care of yourself so that you can care for others the way that you do. Thank you for listening and receiving this — you deserve to receive as much as you give.

I love you. I hope your life feels like an endless garden blooming. I hope the sun kisses your cheek every morning and the tingling sensation stays with you long into the night. I hope you know how much you matter and how appreciated you are.
