Our Love Is Like Fire And Water

By

We are fire and water; we cannot exist together, but somehow we always find our way to each other.

Maybe I am the fire; when I spin out of control, you are the only one who can cure me. The only one who knows how to tame these fiery flames.

You come and you calm me, then you stifle me.

Or maybe it’s me who suffocates you, evaporating your very being into the atmosphere. Burning away your very nature.

We cannot be together but the world will burn if we are apart.
So we make our way back together.

Somewhere.
Somehow.

So I will thank God for housefires; I will kiss the ground of forests ablaze, because they all mean we will be together again.

If only for a moment.
If only for this tragedy.
