To The Me Throughout The Years

By

If I could time travel to the me I was when I was sixteen, I would tell her to lighten up and not be so bitter.

If I could time travel back to the me I was when I was seventeen, I would tell her to go to school every day and not be so angry at the entire world.

If I could time travel back to the me I was when I was eighteen, I would tell her that it’s ok for you to not like college, eat well and stay healthy.

If I could go back to the me I was when I was twenty-one, I would tell her that it’s okay to not know what you want to do with your future or who you want to be. College is very important as well as your physical and mental health.

Stay away from the drama.

Work at a job that you love and won’t make you wake up in the morning thinking how much you hate it there.

Listen to advice from older adults, not your little friends who haven’t lived their lives.

Don’t take advice from people who hate their lives.

Don’t rush to find love. Love can wait. Your Mr and Mrs perfect is out there waiting for you when the time is right. Don’t give up or beat yourself up when you don’t find them, or if you end it him/her. A saying my best friend told me goes, “you have to kiss a lot of frogs until you find your prince.”

You have to pick and chose your battles. Stop fighting everyone. Respect your mom. Listen to her advice, she’s not out to get you.

People come and go. Like seasons, people change as well. Stay true to yourself. Never question your worth. Love yourself.
