Aries: “Goals AF”
(March 24th to April 19th)
Aries use “Goals AF” to describe a couple or outfit that they admire. For example, they’ll see Beyoncé in a sparkly jumpsuit and say “Goals AF” only to go out that night in their own new sparkly jumpsuit and #slay. Aries are courageous and hard-working and are often the leaders of their pack. They need to be first in everything and beat anyone who’s a potential threat or competitor. They get ahead by admiring (finding “Goals”), emulating and then ultimately getting ahead.
Taurus: “Netflix and Chill”
(April 20th to May 20th)
At this point we all know that this term translates into potential steamy hookup. Taurus people are excellent lovers and are highly sensuous people. They can get behind any romantic occasion but they especially enjoy being at home with their partner. If you date a Taurus (or even are just trying to hook up with them) you won’t be surprised when they suggest you “Netflix and Chill” after cooking you a fancy meal.
Gemini: “Woke”
(May 21st to June 20th)
Stay “woke” means to keep up with current events and be able to talk about the nuances and intricacies of cultural issues. Gemini people are extremely curious and learn quickly. They’re easily fascinated and want to be able to experience everything the world has to offer. You’ll find a Gemini getting frustrated with her friends and family members who can’t keep up with his/her quick-wit. To them (s)he’ll say: “stay woke!”
Cancer: “Fam”
(June 21st to July 22nd)
Short for family, “fam” is slang used to refer to one individual that’s close to you. Those born under the ruling sign of Cancer are sensitive homebodies. They often have a small tight-knit group of friends and enjoy spending time at home with those closest to them. A Cancer most likely has that one person in their life who has been their friend and confidante forever that they will call “fam” over text message.
Leo: “Lit”
(July 23rd to August 22nd)
Like the ray of sunshine Leo’s are, they’re likely to use the term “Lit” to describe events or things they think are fantastic. Leo’s are sun-worshippers and search for joy and light wherever they can find it. They love social gatherings and are often surrounded by many people. They’re also very generous. Leo’s will throw a huge party and then humorously (or narcissistically) refer to it as totally “lit”.
Virgo: “High-Key”
(August 23rd to September 22nd)
The hardest working of the signs, you can expect a Virgo to describe their day at work as “high-key”– meaning really fucking stressful and hard. They tend to worry a lot and analyze everything. Their headstrong work-ethic is something they’ll want to discuss “high-key” with you.
Libra: “Savage”
(September 23rd to October 22nd)
If there’s one thing Libras realllyyy can’t stand, it’s confrontations or choosing sides. They’re often blown away by the cruelty displayed in celebrity feuds or even in arguments among their own friend group and they’ll often mutter “savage…” in a disbelieving tone under their breath (meaning: SO mean!) But then when asked directly whose side they’re actually on, Libra’s will balk and take the comment back.
Scorpio: “Bad”
(October 23rd to November 21st)
Scorpio’s are often described as “intense” and they are sensual and passionate to the extreme. They themselves are often described as “bad” (meaning hot/sexy) but they are also likely to see potential lovers and whisper to a friend “s/he’s badddd,” because sex is often on their minds. They’re decisive and they know what they want and how to get it.
Sagittarius: “V”
(November 22nd to December 21st)
Sags are known for being impatient for and for taking shortcuts whenever possible. They will be the first to use “v” in place of “very” to describe something. They have an amazing sense of humor so they will probably use it to get a chuckle out of their friends: “You look V beautiful today” or “I’m V ready for vacation.”
Capricorn: “Sus”
(December 22nd to January 19th)
“Sus,” meaning suspect or suspicious. Cap’s are notoriously distrustful and condescending. They always believe they’re right and are quick to expect the worst in everybody else. Specifically within a work context or a group project, Capricorns will find anyone else’s idea or any new collaborator “sus.” Commence eye-rolls behind their back.
Aquarius: “Basic”
(January 20th to February 18th)
The highly-intellectual, deep-thinking Aquarius needs to be in an equally stimulating environment to feel free and happy. They see the world as full of possibility but need mental-stimulation to be able to express themselves fully. Because of this, you’ll often find them dismissing people or events as “too basic,” meaning too boring/dull/uninteresting for their standard. Try not to be offended if this water sign calls you “basic,” they’re known for coming off as cold or insensitive without meaning to.
Pisces: “RT”
(February 19th to March 20th)
The selfless, creative Pisces is always inspired by others. Their compassion and intuitiveness leads them to a variety of people and places. Their agreeable nature will have them saying “RT” (or re-tweet, meaning agree!) to any idea you share with them.
