Alistair Campbell’s daughter Charlotte was born with hearing disabilities that make it virtually impossible to hear without assistance. She got her first cochlear implant at the age of four, and her mother said it lit up her world.
“She wouldn’t talk to anybody to pretty much a social butterfly,” she said.
Now Charlotte is getting her second implant, and her dad wanted to show her a serious sign of support.
So he got an implant too. Well, in tattoo form at least.

The internet’s heart has pretty exploded at this awesome parenting.

Charlotte’s mom says she isn’t sure if Charlotte understands the full significance of the tattoo yet:
When Charlotte saw her dad’s version of a cochlear implant she giggled, touched it and told him it was “cool”. (New Zealand Herald)
But when she gets older she will absolutely see what an amazing gesture of love this is. When Campbell was asked what gave him the motivation to go through with it, he gave a simple, but powerful, answer:
“My love for her really. Hey my hair can grow back.”
