Twitter Compares USA’s World Cup Victory To #PearlHarbor — Read 14 Cringeworthy Tweets And The Epic Comebacks

Last night USA won the women’s World Cup in soccer, which was pretty cool. I don’t follow sports as a general rule, but I have tons of pride in America, and I was really excited to hear about this happening right after the 4th of July to boot! Totally Awesome!

But then some Americans decided that a soccer match was an appropriate reason to bring up the death and destruction of World War II, including calling the match “payback” for the Japanese attack on America’s Pearl Harbor.

Sounds too stupid to be real? Yeah, that’s what I thought too:
