It’s An Inconvenient Truth all over again, except even scarier.

Ségolène Royal, France’s Ecology Minister, is prescribing a painful prescription for our world’s environmental woes. Talking to French television network Canal + she said that if we want to save the planet, we must stop eating Nutella.

Yes, you read that right: Nutella is destroying our environment.

“We should stop eating Nutella, for example, because it’s made with palm oil. Oil palms have replaced trees, and therefore caused considerable damage to the environment,” The Minister said.

Across the world, forests of trees are being replaced with farms of oil palms. Less trees means more C02 in the atmosphere, the speeding up of global warming, and the threatening of biodiversity on earth.
