Facebook Group Mobilizes To Shut Down Suspicious Motel As Fear Of The ‘Chillicothe Killer’ Spreads

By

A string of mysterious disappearances and homicides in the Ohio town of Chillicothe have left police and residents concerned that a serial killer may be on the loose. With two women missing, and two dead, the possibility of there being a “Chillicothe Killer” has been explored in both local and national media.

Now some residents are doing what they can to reclaim their town and fight back.

The target of their campaign is the “Chillicothe Inn”, which sits near the banks of the Scioto River, where many of the murdered victims’ bodies have been found.

The group claims the Inn is a hub for drugs, prostitution, and a scourge on the town. The Inn is where at least one of the victims was staying before her disappearance.

Some reviews on the Inn’s Facebook page would certainly make me uneasy about staying there…

The group is based around its Facebook page, which was created on June 22nd and currently has almost 600 likes.

The page originally began as a satire, mocking the Chillicothe Inn and creating fake advertisements for motels that want prostitutes and drugs. More recently, however, it has become a political center for the movement to shut the motel down, with friends sharing horror stories and sketchy claims about the Inn — including this one.

They have now announced a picket in support of closing the Chillicothe Inn once and for all.

The page also started a Change.org petition to have the Inn shuttered, and it is edging extremely close to its 1000 signature goal.

The owner of the Inn, Bob Patel, has told The Chillicothe Gazette that he is confused as to why his motel is being targeted. He claims that his staff calls the police at least once a month to report “suspicious” behavior.

But the group seems adamant about moving forward:

Will closing the Inn prevent a potential serial killer from claiming anymore victims? I suppose only time will tell..
