Your Effort Is Worthwhile, Even If It Doesn’t Feel Like It Right Now

Right now, it might feel like you haven’t been making any progress. It might feel like you’re stuck in the same place. It might feel like you’ve been wasting your time and your energy because you haven’t gotten the results you’ve been hoping to find.

It’s hard to keep putting in effort when you feel like everything you’ve been doing has been useless. It’s hard to feel productive when it seems like all of your hard work hasn’t been paying off. It’s hard to give yourself an incentive to keep going when it seems like you aren’t getting any closer to your goals.

But you have to remember, you aren’t going to see results overnight. You need to stay patient. You need to hold onto your hope. Nothing good comes quickly. You’re going to need to wait a while. You’re going to need to convince yourself your hard work will be worth it eventually, even if you’re questioning whether it make any difference right now.

Besides, you probably are making progress that you’re unable to see, unable to track. You’re probably learning a little more each day, growing a bit more each week. You probably aren’t even aware of your own growth.

Remember, it’s natural for you to have doubts about everything you’ve been doing, but you shouldn’t let yourself get discouraged. You shouldn’t let yourself believe that all of your effort has been for nothing because that’s far from the truth.

One day, you’re going to look back and be proud you put so much energy into the things you care about. You’re going to be thankful that you took steps toward following your dreams.

Right now, you might feel like giving up. You might feel like you haven’t been making any progress, even though you’ve been working your ass off every single day. You might wonder whether it’s worth it to keep tiring yourself out when your hard work hasn’t been making a difference anyway. You might feel like it’s time to quit.

But you need to remind yourself that you’re going to see results eventually. You’re going to reach your goals eventually. It’s only a matter of time. You have to stay open. You have to stay patient. You have to stay hopeful.

If you really want something, then giving up shouldn’t be an option you entertain for long. You should shake away your fears, shake away your doubts, and get back to working on your goals.

You should also remind yourself how important it is to enjoy the journey. It’s much better than obsessing over the end result, something you cannot fully control. If you enjoy the journey, then it doesn’t matter how much progress you can see. It doesn’t matter how close you are to your goals. Even if you don’t reach them anytime soon, you’re still going to enjoy yourself. You’re still going to feel like everything you’ve been doing has been worth it.

Remember, your effort is worthwhile, even if it doesn’t feel like it right now. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
