6 Stupid Little Things That Are Going To Stress Out Every Bride

By

You realize how lucky you are to marry your best friend. You realize your wedding is going to be the happiest day of your life. But that doesn’t mean the planning process is smooth sailing. There’s a lot of stress involved when you’re a bride (or groom) to be.

1. Seating arrangements. No family is perfect. There are certain family members who can’t be trusted at the same table. The same goes for your friends. You don’t want to create unnecessary drama with your seating arrangements, but you also don’t want anyone to feel like they were designated to a ‘better’ or ‘worse’ table. Basically, you don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings. You just want your wedding to be a happy day. You want everyone to have a good time.

2. Dealing with vendors. You’re going to have to overcome your fear of phone calls because most vendors aren’t going to settle for an email. They’re going to want to speak with you over the phone to finalize the details of your wedding. They might even want to meet in person. Unfortunately, since they’re only human, this means you’re going to be doing a lot of waiting. Not everyone is going to call when they promise to call. Not everyone is going to get back to you in a timely manner. Not everyone is going to understand how hard it is for you to juggle wedding planning on top of everything else.

3. Dealing with other people’s opinions. Some family members are going to give you unwanted advice because they want what’s best for you and are only trying to help. But it can get frustrating when people question why you aren’t inviting a certain extended family member or pressure you into using the song they want for your first dance. Even if you’re a people pleaser and want everyone to have an amazing time at your wedding, there comes a point when you have to stop caring about their opinion. At the end of the day, your opinion and your fiance’s opinion are the only ones that truly matter.

4. Sticking to your budget. Weddings are outrageously expensive. It’s hard to fit everything you want into your ceremony and reception when you’re on a strict budget. There are always tempting decorations to purchase on Etsy or elaborate ideas to copy from Pinterest. But you have to think realistically. You have to accept your dream wedding probably isn’t going to happen — but that doesn’t mean your day isn’t going to be perfect.

5. Creating the guest list. You don’t want to invite too many people when you’re paying around 100 dollars per plate. But you don’t want to offend anyone either. You have to figure out who your wedding day wouldn’t be complete without and who you’re comfortable with maybe, possibly offending by keeping them off the guest list. As much as you love your childhood best friends, if you haven’t seen them in a decade, you might have to take them off the list.

6. Planning every little detail. Anyone who has planned a wedding knows a lot of effort goes into it. You have to do more than pick a photographer and DJ. You also have to pick out signage and linens and cake cutting songs. There are a million little decisions to make, which can be stressful AF. But you have to trust yourself. You have to trust your wedding day is going to turn out as perfect as your relationship.
