If You Keep Procrastinating, You’ll Never Be Happy, Fulfilled, Or Successful

Stop looking for signs you should send the first text or move across the country or apply for a new position. If you’re looking for signs as an excuse to do those things, it means you want to do those things, which means you should do those things. Your own thoughts and opinions are the only signs you need.

Stop waiting for the timing to be right. Stop waiting for the perfect moment. Stop hoping the stars will align in order to give you exactly what you want, no questions asked, no work required. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a good person, whether you believe you deserve to be rewarded, because the universe isn’t going to make life that easy on you. If you want something, you have to go out there and get it. You can’t wait for it to be handed to you. You can’t expect opportunity to come knocking. You have to go door-to-door yourself. You have to do the heavy lifting yourself.

You’re never going to make something of yourself if you keep procrastinating. Stop coming up with excuses about why you should wait until tomorrow or next week or next year to conquer your goals. Stop putting off your future. Stop running away from your plans. Decide to take risks. Decide to take a chance on yourself.

You don’t have to wait to make a move on the person you want to date. You don’t have to wait to sign a lease in another city. You don’t have to wait to apply for your dream career. You don’t have to wait to chase after your greatest desires.

Stop pretending you have a good reason to put off the things that mean the most to you. Stop pretending you’re too inexperienced or too talentless or too young or too old to go after what you really want. Stop finding more and more ways to justify why you’ve been settling instead of chasing after your dream life. Stop basking in your own misery and do something to change your fate.

You’ll surprise yourself by how much you can accomplish — but only if you stop letting yourself take the easy way out. Stop choosing the simplest option over the riskiest option.

Sometimes, the most complicated choice you could make is the right one. Sometimes, you’re going to have to deal with some rough terrain before you can get back onto the smooth, straight path.

You have to remember, if you’re unhappy right now, you can start doing something differently. You can stop following a routine you’ve grown tired of repeating day after day after day. You can stop acting like you’re powerless to change your own life.

If you want to make something of yourself, stop procrastinating. Stop waiting until tomorrow to accomplish what you could work on today. You’re never going to feel like you’ve reached a place of success until you put your thoughts into actions, until you abandon your comfort zone and search for fulfillment.
