Never Let Loneliness Convince You That You’re Unlovable

By

Never let your loneliness convince you to text someone toxic. Never lower your standards on nights you are alone.

Never let your loneliness convince you to reach out to an ex who could not care less about you. Do not assume people from the past are your only option because no one else would ever be interested in someone like you. You do not have to move backward. Your future is filled with people who will appreciate you, people who will value all you have to offer, people you have not met yet but will stumble across soon.

Never let your loneliness convince you to cut your hair or buy new clothes or lose twenty pounds. If you want to do those things because they would make you happy then feel free — but do not assume you have to alter and shift pieces of yourself in order to be loved back. You are worthy of affection right now, right this second. You do not have to change a thing about yourself, except for the people you have been hanging around with who have lowered your self-esteem so drastically.

Never let your loneliness convince you to criticize the girl you see in the mirror. Do not delete pictures of yourself. Do not become obsessed with ‘flaws.’ Do not assume you are alone while all of your friends are in happy relationships because you are not as attractive as them. You are beautiful too. You just have not found the right person. Everyone moves at a different pace. Everyone reaches milestones at different points in time.

Never let your loneliness convince you to settle. Do not jump into a relationship with the first person who pays you attention even if they are far beneath your standards. Hold out for someone who will respect you, appreciate you, and excite you. Do not sacrifice your morals just so you can stop calling yourself single. Do not let the wrong person into your heart because you feel like you are running out of time to find the right person.

Never let your loneliness convince you that you are unlovable, that you are unattractive, that you are going to end up alone forever. Even though you might be feeling insecure at the moment, you have to remember you are deserving of a relationship. You deserve someone who is dedicated to you. Someone who is faithful to you. Someone who is head over heels, madly in love with you. Do not doubt your ability to find someone like that. It will happen. You just need to stay patient. You need to hang onto your hope.

Never let your loneliness convince you there is something wrong with you because your relationship status has no correlation to your value. You do not need a boyfriend to feel fulfilled. You are already valuable. You are already a catch. Never call yourself mean names, just because you happen to be single. Never sell yourself short, just because you are feeling lonely.
