I Am Done Waiting

I am done waiting for you to answer my texts. I am not going to stare down at my phone, willing you to write me back. If you do not want to have a conversation with me, I am not going to force you. I am not going to send a secondary text just in case my first message failed to go through. I am not going to concern myself with why you are not answering. I am just going to accept it and move forward with my life. I have enough on my mind. I don’t have time to worry about why you have been actively ignoring me.

I am done rearranging my schedule to see you. If you want to set plans with me, I’m not going to turn you down to spite you. If I am able to make it that day, then I will see you, but I am not going out of my way to make time for you anymore — especially when you end up canceling plans on me half the time. I am not going to give you the chance to disappoint me anymore.

I am done waiting for you to place a label onto our relationship. If you keep calling me a friend, then I am going to start treating you like one. I am going to stop flirting with you. I am going to stop falling all over you. I am going to stop engaging in your mind games. You will probably be upset since you are used to getting everything you want from me without offering anything in return, but you don’t get to have it both ways anymore. You can either commit to me or you can quit me.

I am done feeling like there is something wrong with me because you haven’t seemed interested lately. It’s not fair for our conversations to give you ego boosts while they make me feel even more insecure about myself. I am not going to keep fighting for you if you never show appreciation, if you never seem happy to see me, if you always make me question my self-worth. I want to surround myself with people who encourage me, not demean me.

I am done settling for less than I deserve. I don’t want a maybe. I don’t want to hear excuses about why we aren’t in an official relationship. You either want to date me or you don’t, which means you can either make your feelings more obvious or you can watch me walk away. I don’t have the patience to figure out what you want from me. I don’t want to play mind reader. I want your honest opinion so I can move forward with you or move on from you.

I am done waiting to call you mine. I am not going to chase you any further. You already know how I feel about you. I have already shown you how serious I am about us. I don’t have anything else to tell you. I don’t have anything else to give you. I am finally done.
