America's Got Talent Golden Buzzer

The America’s Got Talent Golden Buzzer Is Saved For The Most Talented People In The Country

Getting the America’s Got Talent Golden Buzzer is an honor only a few people have been lucky enough to experience.

America’s Got Talent is a televised competition meant to discover the most talented men and women scattered across the country. However, unlike most reality shows, there is no age limit. Little kids can enter and so can elderly men and women — as long as they have the talent.

The winner receives a million dollars and their own show in Las Vegas. In the past, people like Terry Fator, a ventriloquist, and Mat Franco, a magician, have taken the title. However, there have also been comedians, acrobats, dancers, singers, mind readers, and dog trainers taking the stage.

Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Mel B, and Howie Mandel are the current judges (with Tyra Banks hosting) — and each of them have a power called The Golden Buzzer.

Normally the judges vote on whether or not a contestant will make it through to the next round, but if they think someone has star potential, they can smash the America’s Got Talent Golden Buzzer and confetti will rain down on the contestant. It’s the signal that they get to go straight through to the live shows without having to compete in the following round like everyone else.

The judges only have one buzzer per season, so they have to use it wisely.

One of the most viewed Golden Buzzer moments was when Grace VanderWaal performed with her ukulele. Howie pressed his buzzer and she went on to win the season!

Even though she is the host, Tyra Banks still gets to join in on the Golden Buzzer excitement. When Light Balance preformed for the first time, dancing across the stage with outfits that lit up in the dark, she surprised them by sending them straight through to live shows!

This year, Tyra decided to use her buzzer on a group of acrobats called Zucaroh. They consist of 48 different athletes who will make you feel guilty about watching from your couch.

Another winner of America’s Got Talent received The Golden Buzzer after bringing her puppet onto the stage for an adorable performance. Darci Lynne is a singing ventriloquist who was only 12 at the time of filming.

Mandy Harvey, a deaf singer who preformed an original song, brought us to tears with her angelic voice. Simon knew he had to hit his buzzer for someone with such breathtaking talent.

Before Tyra, Nick Cannon was the host of AGT and was able to push his very  own Golden Buzzer. He chose to send through Dorothy Williams, a 90-year-old woman who proves you are never too old to follow your dreams.

When AGT has guest hosts, they are allowed to hit the buzzer too. People like Neil Patrick Harris and Seal have been able to pick their favorites but this time, George Lopez got to do the honors with a dance group called Malevo.

Just this season, Courtney Hardwin wowed the judges with an energetic one-of-a-kind performance that no one saw coming. She is only thirteen-years-old but already has the voice of a seasoned singer.

It’s an honor to make it through on America’s Got Talent but it’s an even bigger honor to receive one of only five Golden Buzzers that season. It means you truly do have talent. TC mark
