Stop Settling For One-Sided Relationships

Don’t put all of your effort into a relationship when the other person is only doing the minimum amount possible.

Don’t convince yourself that this other person is going to change if you do enough for them, if you show them how much you have to offer.

Don’t let them into your heart if they keep pushing you away when you try to come close.

Don’t go out of your way to help someone who isn’t going to appreciate the time you put into them.

Don’t chase after someone who has no intention of being caught.

Don’t text first every single time, especially when you rarely get a response.

Don’t message them about all of their Instagram stories when they never even look at yours.

Don’t tell all of your friends about them if their friends have no idea who you are.

Don’t go down on them if they never go down on you.

Don’t go out of your way to help them if they make excuses whenever you ask for their help.

Don’t sit up all night, wondering where they are and who they are with when you know they aren’t thinking about you.

Don’t give them everything you have when they are giving you nothing at all.

Don’t be the only one to plan dates, to initiate conversations, to care.

Don’t settle for a one-sided relationship, because you are only going to get your heart broken. The other person is never going to realize how good they have it. They aren’t going to wake up one day and suddenly start appreciating all of the effort you have been putting into them. They are going to remain oblivious. They are going to keep taking from you without giving an ounce in return.

Your one-sided relationship isn’t the start of a love story. You aren’t being romantic by bending over backwards for someone who doesn’t see your worth.

You might feel like you are doing the right thing by fighting for them. By showing them nothing they do can make you love them less, because you won’t give up on them. But you are only fooling yourself. You are only hurting yourself.

Your one-sided love is not real love. It is imposter love. It is a watered down version of love.

Relationships are not supposed to hurt like this. They are not supposed to cause you to stay up late, questioning everything about yourself.

You should never settle for a one-sided love, because it takes two people to make a relationship last. Your feelings are not enough if they do not reciprocate them. You cannot carry the entire relationship on your back. That is not the way it works.

Say goodbye to your one-sided love, because there is someone out there who is willing to put in the work. Someone who will say thank you whenever you do something sweet and then find a way to return the favor. Someone who will appreciate your soft heart instead of resenting it. Someone who will make you as happy as you make them. TC mark
