This Is Why Sweet Girls Get Mistaken For Pushovers

By

She gets mistaken for a pushover, because she lets other people pick which restaurant they want to eat at and which movie they want to see. Because she would rather let them have their first choice than be the one to decide.

Getting her way with little things like that isn’t a priority for her, because she isn’t greedy or selfish. She prefers to take the backseat when it comes to decisions. She goes with the flow.

All she wants is to see the people in her world smile. She wants to bring joy to everyone surrounding her.

That’s why she says yes to every favor that someone asks her to do. Lending money. Babysitting. Being the designated driver.

It’s not that she’s a pushover. She knows that she doesn’t need to help everyone that reaches out to her. But she wants to. She has a huge heart with a desire to keep on giving.

But she gets mistaken for a pushover, because she’s soft, because she’s always apologizing. And to her, that’s not a bad thing. Not at all.

If she finds out that she accidentally hurt someone’s feelings, then she is going to say sorry. She isn’t going to let them suffer. She’s going to try to set things right.

She’s the type of person that doesn’t like to make anyone upset, so she holds back from telling them that she hates the shoes they’re wearing or the haircut that they just got. She doesn’t see the point in needless confrontation.

She doesn’t see the point in bragging, either. That’s why she stays so quiet. She asks other people how their day is going and then actually listens to their response. She finds people fascinating and likes to learn as much about them as possible.

So if a friend needs to vent, she’ll let them vent. She won’t interrupt. She won’t turn the conversation around to talk about herself. She’ll listen silently until it’s her turn to speak.

She’s polite, and that’s why she gets mistaken for a pushover. Because she doesn’t like to push her way to the front of lines. She doesn’t like to shove people out of her way at stores. She treats everyone else the way that she would like to be treated. Like actual human beings.

But mostly, she gets mistaken for a pushover, because she doesn’t complain when the world treats her like crap. She doesn’t whine about how hard it is for her to pay the rent and grumble about how she only got a few hours of sleep the night before.

But that’s only because she’s an optimist. She sees the silver lining in every situation. She tries to look at life in a positive light.

She’s not actually a pushover. She’s just the type of girl that cares about your smile more than her own.
