Forgive Them, Not Because They Deserve It But Because You Deserve Peace

They wronged you in so many ways. They broke your heart and soul. They left emotional scars and wounds that you still carry around.

They made you cry ceaseless tears over your pillow. They destroyed your life and dreams. They distorted the innocent child in you. They disappointed you over and over again. They made you doubt yourself and your worth. They made mistrust people. They robbed you of your peace and happiness. Now, your soul is brimmed with anger and grudges. You feel a constant urge to get your revenge, but deep down you know that the best thing you can do is to forgive and move on.

Forgive them, not because they deserve it, but because you deserve peace.

You deserve to move forward in life. Your life is limited; there are only so many tomorrows. You cannot live your best life today if you let your past hold you back. You cannot move forward without letting go of the blocks that are keeping you stuck. You can’t enjoy the present moment and be happy if your spirits are filled with negative energy and anger.

It is easier said than done, yes. However, you need to remember that you are doing this for you. It is the best and the most righteous thing to do for your soul. Believe in karma and divine justice. All people pay for their sins and wrong deeds sooner or later.

Forgive them because people are not saints. Nobody is perfect, and we all have inner demons that we struggle with every single day. Whatever people do has to do with them their beliefs, their struggles, their flaws and nothing to do with you. Do not take anything personally. Never regret being kind. Such experiences make us stronger and wiser if we choose to benefit from them. You can either dwell on the pain, let it defeat you, sink in an ocean of bitterness. Or, you can let the pain fuel you, make you stronger, learn from the experience, and move on.

Forgive people and don’t forget to forgive yourself.

Forgive yourself for all the wrong decisions and choices because you didn’t know any better, and these decisions taught you how to make better ones now. Forgive yourself for all your failures because they taught you what doesn’t work, and now you have a better chance to succeed. Forgive yourself for all your wrong deeds because you are not the same person: You acknowledge your fault, you are sorry, and you deserve a second chance.

Forgive yourself simply because you deserve forgiveness as much as anyone else does.

At the end of the day, we are all work in progress, we fall to rise again, we make mistakes to learn, we hurt people dear to us without intending to, and we wrestle every day with our inner demons. Nevertheless, we all deserve a second chance because we are learning and growing to become a better person.

We need that forgiveness and that belief that we can be this better person, that we can make this positive change. Let’s help each other in our growth journey by forgiving each other so that we can all heal and move forward in our life journey.
