This morning, President Trump took to Twitter to announce a ban on transgender Americans serving in the military, despite the fact there are already an estimated 4,000 transgender people serving in the military.

In June 2016, President Obama lifted the transgender ban but President Trump is determined to undo the progress made towards LGBTQ+ rights and inclusion.
Lawmakers, reporters and commentators are already taking to Twitter with their reactions.
Transgender Americans are serving honorably in our military. We stand with these patriots.

Pres Trump dedicated to putting radical Muslims in graves whereas Pres Obama was dedicated to putting men in the ladies room. #MAGA

Simply being transgender in this ugly world requires an incredible amount of bravery & strength. Trump is a coward, and also a draft dodger.

Grateful to Americans, including LGBT, willing to sacrifice & risk their life in military service- more than draft dodger Trump ever did🏳️🌈

Meanwhile, the ACLU is gearing up for a fight.
