A unidentified 24-year-old Craigslist woman has been accused of stabbing her Craigslist hookup with a pocket knife after declaratively telling the man that she “was a serial killer.”
The 29-year-old man from Lynnwood, Washington met the woman on Craigslist in the “casual encounters” section. After talking, they decided to meet for a one night stand at the local Rodeo Inn for, well, a “rodeo” I guess.
After some time at the motel, the woman became extremely strange. As they got comfortable in the bed, she kept asking the man over and over again whether he was a serial killer. He assured her multiple times that he was not.
She then climbed on top of him and said, “Well, I’m a serial killer.” She grabbed a nearby pocket knife and stabbed him in the chest repeatedly. She promised that after stabbing him to death, she would “eat his heart.”
The man resisted, however, and was able to shake her off. He ran out of the motel room and into a nearby Walgreens where he called for medical attention.
Police searched the motel room and found a note that the woman intended to leave after murdering the man. It promised that she was proud of her killing and that she would strike again.
Fortunately, she was not able to strike again. Police found the 24-year-old murderer would-be in the motel parking lot. Upon questioning, the woman seemed distant and not remorseful. She repeatedly expressed more concern at the prospect of missing work due to her court requirements than about the actual charges at hand.
When asked why she did it, she replied simply, “I’m a loon.”
The woman is being held on $1 million bail.
