The Difference Between ‘I Love You’ And ‘I’m In Love With You’

Emily & Steve Photography

So many people confuse “I love you” for “I’m in love with you”. Some might even say that they honestly can’t differentiate between the two. For me, the difference has always been black and white.

I love you means do you want some?

I’m in love with you means here, take mine.

I love you means butterflies.

I’m in love with you means fire.

I love you means we have so much in common!

I’m in love with you means our differences are a breath of fresh air.

I love you means you make my life easier, I’m thankful to have you.

I’m in love with you means let me make your life easier, I’m thankful to have you.

I love you means I want you to be happy.

I’m in love with you means I want you to be happy, even if it isn’t with me.

I love you means you could probably change the world.

I’m in love with you means you have changed my world.

I love you means you’re beautiful.

I’m in love with you means your mind is beautiful.

I love you means I like the way you think; your thoughts entertain me.

I’m in love with you means the way you are wired, and the way that your brain registers and copes with the world makes it easier for me to register and cope with the world.

I love you means feel better, I’ll pray for you.

I’m in love with you means are our kidneys a match?

I love you means I would definitely cry at your funeral, and I might even stand up and speak about what an amazing person you were.

I’m in love with you means they better dig two graves.

I love you means hold my hand.

I’m in love with you means will you take my hand?

I love you means for now.

I’m in love with you means hopefully, forever. TC mark

I'm trying.

This is me letting you go

If there’s one thing we all need to stop doing, it’s waiting around for someone else to show up and change our lives. Just be the person you’ve been waiting for.

At the end of the day, you have two choices in love – one is to accept someone just as they are and the other is to walk away.

We owe it to ourselves to live the greatest life that we’re capable of living, even if that means that we have to be alone for a very long time.

“Everyone could use a book like this at some point in their life.” – Heather
